Meryl Streep’s famous actor boyfriend revealed after ‘secretly dating co-star for a year’

Meryl Streep has quietly been dating fellow Hollywood icon Martin Short for ‘well over a year’, it has been claimed.
The Devil Wears Prada star, 75, has been linked to the Father of the Bride actor, 74, for months, following her split from ex-husband Don Gummer.
While they have remained tight-lipped over the speculation, an insider suggested that their ‘completely unexpected’ relationship has been flourishing behind closed doors.
‘Meryl couldn’t help but fall for Martin,’ the source said. ‘He is a gentleman, he keeps her laughing and is an all around positive person. She loves being around him.’
They also revealed that the pair, who both star in Only Murders in the Building, weren’t ‘looking for a relationship when they started dating’.
Not only have the public decided that they are couple goals, but the insider told PageSix that their ‘friends and family, including their kids, absolutely approve of their relationship and think they’re adorable together’.

Although they have no plans to walk down the aisle together any time soon, the source added that they are ‘happy dating’ for now.
Meryl previously dated fellow actor John Cazale, who tragically died in March 1978, following a battle with lung cancer.
She was introduced to Don by her brother and they tied the knot in 1978 following a whirlwind romance.

In 2023, it was revealed that they had gone their separate ways after around four decades of marriage, with the Mamma Mia star’s rep telling PageSix that they had secretly split several years prior to the headlines.
Meryl previously shed light on the secret to a long-lasting marriage, candidly telling Vogue: ‘Goodwill and willingness to bend — and to shut up every once in a while.

Meanwhile, Martin met late wife Nancy Dolman in 1972, and they tied the knot eight years later – with the couple adopting children Katherine, Oliver and Henry over the course of their relationship.
She died in 2010, after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer – the Tony-winner has gone on to campaign for the Women’s Research Cancer Fund following his loss.
