Lady Gaga begs fans’ forgiveness after cancelling concert without notice
'I don’t want to risk long-term or permanent damage.'

Fans in Miami were left stunned Wednesday night when Lady Gaga announced that her Mayhem Ball concert would not go ahead as planned – just minutes before she was due to take the stage.
The pop icon, 39, shared a message on Instagram Stories at 8pm ET – the exact time the show was due to start.
She said that she had no choice but to cancel in order to protect her voice.
‘During rehearsal last night and my vocal warmup tonight, my voice was extremely strained and both my doctor and vocal coach have advised me not to go on,’ Gaga wrote.
‘I don’t want to risk long-term or permanent damage to my vocal cords.’
The Miami date had been eagerly anticipated since the Mayhem Ball tour launched in July, with fans filling the arena expecting Gaga’s famously high-energy set, usually kicking off closer to 8.45pm.

‘I want to be hardcore and just push through this for you,’ she confessed in her statement, ‘but I would be more afraid of the long-term implications on my voice.
‘I hope you can forgive me and accept my sincerest apologies for any letdown or inconvenience. I love my fans so much, respect you, and hope you can accept my regretful apology.’

@BirdieBittern complained: ‘Seriously, minutes before the show?? She was advised by her doctor and vocal coach not to perform due to “a significant risk” of damage to her vocal chords. Why do performers treat their fans like crap?’

@NickiMirageLIVE pointed out that this is not the first time a Lady Gaga concert in Miami has been derailed, writing: ‘I Just experienced the THIRD cancelled (or partially cancelled) Lady Gaga concert in my life. I am NEVER buying a ticket to see her in Miami again. This place is cursed! ????????????’
Lady Gaga has been busy this summer, also appearing in new episodes of Netflix’s spooky hit Wednesday.
The Born This Way singer was part of a raft of stars added to the show credits, with the likes of Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd and Billie Piper – all of whom appear in the first part of the season.
Details of Lady Gaga’s appearance were kept under the thickest of wraps over at Netflix HQ, with her turn as Rosaline Rotwood held back until the second part of the season.
