Major sign Jennifer Lopez might actually nab her elusive Oscar with ‘childhood dream’ film
The buzz has slowly been building.

Jennifer Lopez has received a big boost to her awards season chances after an audience ovation for her turn in new film Kiss of the Spider Woman.
The 55-year-old star appeared for a Q&A at a special screening of the movie in Los Angeles at the DGA Theatre in WeHo on Wednesday night.
A clip shared on social media showed the actress, clad in a floor-length gown and cashmere wrap coat in complementary neutral tones, welcomed onto the stage with whoops, claps and cheers.
As the applause continued, all audience members in shot jumped to their feet to show their appreciation, with Lopez appearing a little overwhelmed and embarrassed by the reception.
Variety confirmed the standing ovation in its tweet from the event, a signal more commonly found at film festivals that usually suggests Oscar buzz is imminent – and a sign the industry and fans alike often love to analyse.
‘Long overdue! She deserves all the flowers she is getting!’ responded a fan account under the post, while another added: ‘As she should!’
