Olivia Rodrigo defended after Glastonbury 2025 closing headline slot branded ‘biggest mistake’
And just like that, it's all over.

And just like that, Glastonbury 2025 is over following an electric closing headline set from American pop star Olivia Rodrigo.
However, viewers have mixed opinions.
As the Grammy-winning star’s set was broadcast live on BBC, The Prodigy performed on the Other Stage to a packed crowd.
Clashes are inevitable at festivals, of course, but many were left raging by the booking, branding Olivia’s slot the event’s ‘biggest mistake’ and demanding that The Prodigy were given her stage.
‘Who was responsible for putting Olivia Rodrigo over the Prodigy on the pyramid stage? you just made the biggest mistake of your career’, blasted X user @karmasan23.
‘The prodigy should have been on the pyramid stage. End of’, declared @Katielainton.

‘Prodigy are great but, I think by the looks of the crowd, people know who Olivia Rodrigo is … they’re singing every word’, tweeted @Jack21120509 alongside a snap of the 200,000-strong crowd, the largest of Olivia’s career.
‘I gotta admit – I was sceptical about Olivia Rodrigo as a Glastonbury headliner. Felt too early in her career. I have been proved wrong. Massively’, confessed @IsonCallum.

‘Olivia Rodrigo’s crowd is the purest form of what music’s meant to be: young people screaming their hearts out for someone who gets them. Hope the older crowd watching remembers: they were that once, too’, penned @yazzler.
During her set, Olivia performed hits including Vampire, Drivers License, and Good 4 U. She also brought out The Cure’s Robert Smith, again, to mixed reactions from the crowd, for a duet of Friday, I’m in Love.
