One Direction stars set to reunite in multi-million pound new project
It's expected to come out in 2026.
One Direction stars Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are reuniting in an upcoming new project.
Filming has already begun on the multi-million-pound Netflix road trip documentary, which will follow the singers as they travel across the US.
The documentary is expected to offer an emotional glimpse into the inner lives of the former bandmates, as they discuss romance, art, friendship, and even the tragic death of Liam Payne.
A representative for Netflix told Metro that the film is going to be directed by Nicola Marsh (known for Song Exploder; Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story).
It will be in collaboration with production company Campfire Studios (known for docs like Unknown Number: The High School Catfish; Smartless: On the Road; America’s Sweethearts: The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders).

The project is expected to drop in 2026, exactly a decade after the band split up.

A source told The Sun: ‘This will be an absolutely huge show for Netflix and is guaranteed to whip 1D’s global army of fans into a frenzy.
‘Although the idea of British boyband members doing a show about travelling across America sounds random, most of them now have strong links Stateside.
‘And it’s likely to be a chance for some serious soul-searching and deep discussions about the incredible journey the group have already been on since they were formed on The X Factor 15 years ago.’
The news comes a year after One Directioner Liam Payne died aged 31 on October 16, 2024, after he fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, leaving friends, family, and fans all over the world devastated.
Zayn, Louis, Niall, and Harry were all in attendance for the devastating goodbye at St. Mary’s Church in Amersham, as Payne’s loved ones held a private service.
