Sophie Habboo has revealed one of her tougher pregnancy symptoms as she opened up on her podcast, NearlyParents, with Jamie Laing.

Former Made In Chelsea stars Sophie, 30, and Jamie, 36, are currently expecting their first child together after tying the knot in April 2023.

The couple announced the pregnancy in June 2025, and since then have kept their fans updates on their podcast as they discuss the trials and tribulations that come along with being first-time parents.

Not people to shy away from the cold, hard truth, Sophie and Jamie discussed one of the more brutal symptoms of pregnancy, with Sophie telling listeners that her teeth are ‘rotting’.

‘And what is the best thing about pregnancy? My teeth are rotting. You think that’s funny? It’s not. You know what’s so great? I literally said to my sister, “Can you see the difference?” and she just couldn’t keep a straight face because she was like “what the f**k has happened to your teeth?”.

‘I’ve always had thick white teeth and these are not veneers guys, these are my real teeth.’

‘They have gone a bit grey, said Jamie as he couldn’t stop uncontrollably laughing as Sophie spoke about her tooth decay with enthusiasm.

‘They’re grey and they’re see-through and have chipped. I’m going to the dentist again tomorrow, but I don’t know. I might cancel it because I’ve had three bondings on my tooth that has never chipped.

‘I bite into a piece of cottage cheese and it chips!

‘I don’t understand! What is happening? My teeth are rotting from pregnancy. They are see-through! I look in the mirror and I can see my tongue behind, then they are so thin. They are frail.

‘And apparently, it is a pregnancy thing.’

Why can teeth be affected during pregnancy?

Nyree Whitley, Chief Clinical Officer at mydentist, told Metro: ‘Tooth decay can occur during pregnancy, namely because of the hormonal changes you experience. Oestrogen and progesterone in particular can rise during pregnancy, leaving your gums more susceptible to inflammation and bleeding, which can trap food debris and plaque, which increases your risk of developing cavities.

‘If you suffer from morning sickness or experience increased sugar cravings during pregnancy, the acidity levels associated with vomiting or consuming sugary foods or drinks can also increase your risk of developing tooth decay. Due to all of these factors, it’s important to ensure that during your pregnancy, you’re attending regular dental checkups to keep an eye on your oral health – it’s important to know that you’re exempt from paying for dental care under the NHS when you’re pregnant, as well as for 12 months following your baby’s birth.

‘There are also things you can do at home to maintain good oral health during pregnancy, such as brushing your teeth with toothpaste twice a day and flossing. If you’re experiencing morning sickness or have heightened cravings for foods that are high in sugar or starch, I’d also advise that you wait for one hour before brushing your teeth to minimise the risk of developing tooth decay. In the meantime, rinse your mouth with plain water and perhaps opt for a sugar-free mint to freshen up.’

The reality TV star also spoke about being challenged with fainting spells and was assured by her doctor to just lie down and listen to her symptoms.

She added that she also could feel her body expanding and said she had ‘massive hooves’ instead of ‘petite feet’.

‘None of my bras fit and that’s for obvious reasons, but the actual back strap is snapping off because my back is widening.

‘My bones are expanding and I am becoming broad. Broader by the day, and by the minute,’ she said.

The couple is known for being candid on their podcast with Sophie previously admitting that Jamie Laing threatened to leave her because of pregnancy hormones.

‘Jamie sits down and he goes “I’m going to call my friends and ask them what I should do about this. Because I’m going to have to leave you. I’m going to leave you because you’re just so unbearable right now. And I’m going to ask my friends how to do that”.’

She recalled that she cried as she wailed and said: ‘And I went “You’re going to leave me and I’m pregnant”.’

Jamie quickly added: ‘The amount of people who are going to call me an a*****e. Just a caveat very quickly, I had no idea the emotional journey that you go on, how your body changes. I just didn’t understand the extreme things that go on and since having read stuff and by the way Sophie sends me stuff every day on Instagram, I am awe of what you go through. The hormone change is wild.’
