Succession star Nicholas Braun has been arrested for a drink-driving offence.

The 37-year-old starred as the bumbling Cousin Greg in the acclaimed HBO drama centred around the battle to take over a legacy media empire.

Throughout the show, Braun’s character Greg was seen trying his best to win his great-uncle Logan Roy (Brian Cox) over as he sought to climb the ladder in the family business.

The actor is now said to have spent an hour in jail following a driving under the influence (DUI) arrest in New Hampshire.

A court date is said to have been set, after the actor was arrested in Moultonborough, near Boston, on Friday (August 29) evening.

A statement from the Moultonborough Police Department Chief of Police Peter Beedle said: ‘On Friday, August 29 at 11.15pm, Nicholas J Braun of New York City, New York was arrested for DUI-Impairment and Operating Without Lights on Lee Road in the Town of Moultonborough, New Hampshire.

‘No additional information will be released at this time.’

TMZ reported that the actor spent around an hour in a cell in Carroll County, before he was released without having to pay bail.

The publication has also claimed there is no mugshot of Braun due to the police cameras not functioning.

Since Succession came to an end in 2023, Braun has had roles in film and TV including the SNL dramatisation Saturday Night.

Braun has spoken about his sadness at the drama coming to a close, as he had to say goodbye to Greg.

‘We’re all pretty bummed,’ the 34-year-old reflected in an interview at the time. ‘I was sad as hell [on] my last day.

‘I finished a couple of weeks ago, and it was a really tough day, you know, saying goodbye to everybody. It’s been the greatest working experience in my life. So, saying goodbye to those people is really tough.

‘We were expecting it while we were making the show, but you don’t believe it till Jesse [Armstrong] says it.’

One actor in particular he shared tender final filming scenes with was Matthew Macfadyen, who played Tom Wambsgans.

‘God, I love Matthew,’ he told The Times. ‘I just feel extremely close to him — when we finished shooting the last season I sobbed saying goodbye. It’s still hard to get through a scene with him without laughing.’

Metro contacted Nicholas Braun’s representatives, the New Hampshire Police and Moultonborough Police for comment.

Succession is available to stream on NOW.
