Jack Whitehall was back and ruthlessly roasting stars at the Brit Awards 2025 but Becky Hill has slammed his classist comment about her.

This comes days after the 36-year-old comedian was blasted by Miquita Oliver for ‘condescending’ comments at the 2025 ceremony

Becky, 31, was nominated for dance act, with the fan-voted award going to Charli XCX’s Brat, when host Jack dubbed her ‘the Wetherspoons Whitney’.

While he did refer to her ‘soaring vocals’, the Afterglow hitmaker slammed the ‘privately educated nepo baby’ for his classist comment.

‘Imagine being called a “Wetherspoons Whitney” by some privately educated nepo baby who has a TV show with daddy the showbiz agent on national TV,’ she wrote on Instagram.

Along with her message, the two-time Brit Award winner shared statistics about the privately educated winners from this year.

The post featured a scathing congratulations to Charli XCX, writing in brackets that she was educated at Bishop’s Stortford College – costing £38,319 per year.

It added that AG Cook and The Last Dinner Party also attended private schools, thanking them for ‘showing that people from ordinary backgrounds can reach the top in pop music.’

‘All presented by Jack Whitehall who attended Oxford University prep school “Dragon” … £52k [sic],’ the image concluded.

The Clifford the Big Red Dog star is the son of actress Hilary Gish and TV producer Michael Whitehall, and his godfathers are Nigel Havers and Richard Griffiths.

During his gap year, he decided to pursue comedy and in 2009 he was nominated for best newcomer at Edinburgh Fringe, quickly appearing on panel shows afterwards.

At the awards show on March 1, Jack said: ‘It’s an eclectic mix of nominees this year, from the soaring vocals of the Wetherspoons Whitney Becky Hill, to the atmospheric house of top jaw with decks, Fred Again.’

In her post, Becky continued: ‘My parents worked so hard to provide a middle class life for me, even tho they couldn’t afford it, no one gave me a leg up, I wasn’t close to London so couldn’t go to Brits School.

‘So if you associate a Midlands accent with a Wetherspoons that says more about the silver spoon in your mouth jolly ol’ boy.’

Becky grew up in Bewdley, Worcestershire, and began singing at the age of 14, gaining the attention of BBC Introducing.

While in a band called Shaking Trees, she found some success and performed on BBC Radio Shropshire as well as at a small festival.

Her breakthrough came when she appeared on the first season of The Voice with Jessie J as her mentor, making it to the semi-finals before being eliminated.

After this, Becky featured as vocals on tracks with Rudimental as well as working with Wilkinson to co-write and record breakout hit Afterglow.

She followed up her message saying she and her ‘working class attitude’ were off to work today, shouting out the Bad Education star for being ‘the fuel to [her] fire’.

‘Remember not to be out of touch today kids, even if ur daddy is rich,’ Becky said.

One final swipe at Jack came after a friend text her, revealing his jokes were aided by seven other writers.

Becky wasn’t the only artist roasted over the evening with a lengthy dig at Britain’s Got Talent judge KSI for his many creative and business endeavours.

Privately educated The Last Dinner Party – who were previously accused of being an industry plant – were dubbed ‘Tatler Girls Aloud’.
