Katy Perry forced to make big change after announcing she’s going into space
This was not on our 2025 bingo card.

Katy Perry revealed she is officially heading into space on Jeff Bezos’ rocket voyage with an all-female crew but she’s had to lock down her Instagram comments.
The Firework singer, 40, was confirmed as one of the six women taking part in the rocket trip and making history as the first pop star in space.
She posted a statement on Instagram about the mission but was quickly forced to switch off comments on the post as fans blasted her decision.
‘If you had told me that I would be part of the first ever all-female crew in space, I would have believed you ♥️????,’ Katy wrote.
‘Nothing was beyond my imagination as a child. Although we didn’t grow up with much, I never stopped looking at the world with hopeful WONDER! I work hard to live my life that way still, and I am motivated more than ever to be an example for my daughter that women should take up space (pun intended).
‘That’s why this opportunity is so incredible — so that I can show all of the youngest & most vulnerable among us to reach for the stars, literally and figuratively. I am honored to be among this diverse group of celestial sisters ✨????.’

‘Katy GURRRRLLLLL don’t go on that rocket ???? plssssss ????,’ pinelaw wrote on a tour announcement post as libbaybe added: ‘turning off ur comments for one post is Wild.’
Renée Duncan said: ‘Read the room, Katy! First you endorse former GOP billionaire Rick Caruso for LA mayor, then you chose to work again with Dr. Luke, and now you’re partnering with oligarch Bezos to go to space. ????’
One comment with almost 200 likes from Kyle Iannuzzi read: ‘So disappointed to learn you’re going to help with Bezos’ marketing himself and his businesses on this space trip. Excited for you to have an opportunity to go to space, and with women, just feels counterintuitive to the whole idea of feminism in this concept given what Bezos stands for and is doing.’
However, some fans did defend her as jnmks said: ‘It’s a once in a lifetime experience. She deserves to experience that moment.’
