Channel 4 show Celebs Go Dating is reportedly ‘hell-bent’ on Maura Higgins joining the cast after her kiss with Danny Jones.

After spending an intense time together in the I’m A Celeb jungle last year, the married McFly artist, 38, and Love Island star, 34, were captured locking lips at Universal Music’s Brits afterparty.

Danny has been married to his wife Georgia Horsley since 2014 and the couple, who share a seven-year-old son, were said to have held ‘crisis talks’ after the kiss with hopes to now ‘move on with their lives’.

Neither Danny nor Maura have publicly addressed the ‘brief drunken kiss’

Now it appears Maura is top of Channel 4’s list to join Celebs Go Dating.

Sources claim she was already being courted following her break-up with beau Pete Wicks, and now show insiders are even more keen to have her on board.

‘Celebs Go Dating are desperate to sign Maura Higgins,’ the insider told The Sun.

They continued: ‘They were already circling her after her split from Pete Wicks landed her back on the dating market.

‘But since she’s found herself back in the headlines after appearing to share a drunken kiss with Danny Jones at the Brits, they are hell-bent on signing her up as they know it would be a huge talking point for the show.’

Maura and Pete’s rumoured relationship took place away from the spotlight, but when asked by the press on Valentine’s Day where Pete was, she responded: ‘Probably cheating’.

If Maura, who rose to fame on Love Island in 2019, does join the 14th season of Celebs Go Dating on E4, she’ll be following in the footsteps of ex Pete, fellow Love Islander Chris Taylor and footballer Lauryn Goodman.

As for Danny, he’ll be appearing on The One Show tonight in his first TV appearance since the kissing scandal.

‘‘This saga has been embarrassing, and Danny had a lot of explaining to do,’ a source previously an insider to the couple previously said.

The musician and former Miss England have been together for 14 years and are ‘keen to just move past it and get on with their lives.’

‘They’ve been away for a few days, and they are focused on being a family unit,’ the source added, saying they are ‘both committed to each other.’

Just days before the supposed kiss, the I’m A Celeb champion appeared on the Parenting Hell podcast hosted by  Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe, where they had an ‘awkward’ jokey exchange about him leaving his wife.

After explaining his home was undergoing renovations, Josh said: ‘Is that why you went in the jungle to get money for the renovations? You’re honest when they go – why are you here?

‘I’ve got a massive tax bill, and she’s left me. That’s why I’m here. Give me the kangaroo d*** and let’s get this done.’

Danny then replied: ‘Do you know what? I left my wife to move. I just left my wife,’ as Rob joked it was an ‘awkward exclusive’.

The singer continued: ‘I left my wife to move house so I’m surprised she’s still with me to be honest because she moved the house all by herself.’
