Vicky Pattinson reveals how ‘debilitating’ chronic health condition is affecting Strictly training
The former Geordie Shore star is one of 15 celebrities heading on Strictly.

Vicky Pattinson has shed light on her chronic health condition that is affecting her Strictly Come Dancing training.
The former Geordie Shore star is in full preparation mode ahead of the BBC dance competition, which is due to kick off later this month.
However, while Vicky – like all contestants – will be struggling with nerves, the 37-year-old has a diagnosed condition that brings on panic attacks, insomnia and exhaustion.
In 2023, the reality TV star was diagnosed with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
However, speaking to the Mirror, the 2015 I’m a Celebrity winner and Celebrity MasterChef finalist, is remaining upbeat.

‘It’s so out of my comfort zone… I’m not a performer. I’m a drinker, not a dancer. It’s been a long time since I’ve done the jungle and MasterChef, but Strictly definitely ups the ante on the anxiety front,’ she said.

‘It was something that was on my vision board that I wanted to tick off, but I am scared. I don’t want to let anyone down – my partner, family or the viewers.’
Discussing her condition, she went on to say: ‘There are moments I can be OK and be the bright, shiny version of myself that everyone expects, and then there are moments where I’m debilitated by it.
‘Now, everything feels heightened and stressful. I’ve been burying my head in the sand a little bit saying it’s ages away, but it’s not. I’m learning as I go. Strictly take things into consideration.’
Earlier this week, Vicky posted a slideshow of behind-the-scenes photos from the start of her training on the BBC show.

She continued: ‘But I already feel like I’ve made friends for life with all my gorgeous dancers, not to mention the pros and the fabulous crew!
‘It certainly is a juggernaut and I’m so honoured to be a part of this years show… even if it means I’ll have no skin at all left on my feet soon.
‘Love you all and thank you for your continued kind and supportive words… they mean so much!!! Not long now.’
In the comments section, Vicky’s followers were quick to share their support and also comment on her painful-looking toe, with a burst blister on the edge.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday for its launch show.
