The ultimate social experiment is back again on ITV, as a new batch of housemates are entering the Big Brother house to bring drama to our screens.

Following an explosive Celebrity Big Brother series in April, when Jack P Shepherd was crowned the winner, the civilian series’ third outing since its revival gets underway tonight.

AJ Odudu and Will Best, who recently spoke to Metro ahead of the series airing tonight, return as the hosts, having teased to us that Big Brother is ‘going to be even more mischievous’ this time around.

The legendary series, which began on Channel 4 in 2000 before moving to Channel 5, was fully revamped and relaunched by the network in 2023.

No clues about prospective housemates were released online ahead of tonight, meaning this will be the very first time anyone has been introduced to them.

To stay up to date with all the latest BB shenanigans, make sure to follow along with Metro’s live coverage.

What time is Big Brother on?

The live launch of Big Brother will start tonight on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm.

Following that, each episode will air Sunday-Friday at the same time for the next seven weeks on ITV, with no new episodes on Saturdays!

The Big Brother: Late and Live after-show will then air at 10.30pm, with celebrity guests and former housemates on hand to dish up exclusive first looks and dissect the latest house action.

ITV is now very much the official home of the beloved show and has released two civilian editions and two celebrity editions, with new presenters filling the shoes of legendary Channel 4 host Davina McCall.

The start date for 2025 – being September 28 – means that Big Brother 2025 will be starting more than a week earlier than Big Brother 2024, which didn’t get underway until October 6.

Who won Big Brother 2024?

Looking back to the last civilian series, viewers voted in their thousands to crown forensic psychologist Ali Bromley as the winner. She took home the life-changing sum of £90,000.

The win meant that Ali, 38, was not only the oldest-ever female winner of the beloved reality show, but also its first-ever lesbian winner in the UK.

Ali beat fellow finalists Marcello Spooks, Segun Shodipo, Hanah Haji, Nathan King, and Emma Morgan to join 2023 champ Jordan Sangha in the BB Hall of Fame.

Speaking in her winner’s interview, after learning she had received a whopping 51.9% of the votes, Ali said she believes people backed her for being ‘authentic’ and not having a ‘game plan’.

Who won Celebrity Big Brother 2025?

Both the civilian and celebrity series have had some iconic housemates over the years.

Earlier in 2025, Celebrity Big Brother endured several controversies, including when Mickey Rourke was kicked out of the house for repeatedly using offensive language.

We also saw a relationship bloom between Love Islander Chris Hughes and Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa, which, while it began as platonic, became something much more once cameras stopped rolling.

In the end, Coronation Street star Jack, 37, shocked fans after emerging triumphant during the final of the ITV reality show, beating the likes of  Drag Race icon Danny Beard as he took home the crown.

Watch the Big Brother live launch, September 28, on ITV2 and ITVX.
