Danny Jones opened up about a big family change just days before he was seen kissing Maura Higgins at a Brits afterparty.

Married I’m A Celeb winner Danny, 38, and Love Island star Maura, 34, were seen embracing over the weekend after attending the star-studded awards ceremony at London’s O2 arena.

Before the cosy encounter, the McFly musician appeared on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe’s Parenting Hell podcast where he opened up on his family life, including a joke about ‘leaving’ his wife Georgia in an upcoming house move.

Speaking about the new family home on the podcast, which was released on February 28, Danny said to host Josh: ‘Are you renovating? Same mate. It’s a nightmare isn’t it?’

Rob asked: ‘Is that why you went in the jungle to get money for the renovations? You’re honest when they go – why are you here? I’ve got a massive tax bill and she’s left me. That’s why I’m here. Give me the kangaroo d*** and let’s get this done.’

Danny then replied: ‘Do you know what? I left my wife to move. I just left my wife.’

The trio then laughed before Rob joked that the statement was an ‘awkward exclusive’.

Danny added: ‘I left my wife to move house so I’m surprised she’s still with me to be honest because she moved the house all by herself.’

On the podcast, Danny also discussed the importance of scheduling time with his former Miss England wife, saying: ‘Another element to add to it as well is that it’s mine and Georgia’s time, it’s adult time.

‘And that’s where our relationship can blossom a bit and watch something together on Netflix or have dinner together. Because those times you don’t get.’

Danny has been married to Georgia Jones since 2014, with the couple sharing son Cooper, five.

However, over the weekend he was captured locking lips with Love Island’s Maura when they were attending Universal Music’s Brit Awards after-party.

A source told The Sun the pair ‘seemed to be having a great time’ before sharing a ‘brief drunken kiss’.

‘Danny and Maura seem to have a close friendship after meeting in the jungle.

‘They were talking and laughing for ages,’ a source told The Sun, who also published videos of the apparent kiss.

Since Danny and Maura’s embrace, Love Island’s Chris Hughes was forced to hit back after social media users believed he was the one in the video.

Sharing a photo of his TV screen, Chris wrote: ‘I wasn’t at the Brits.. and I wasn’t kissing anyone x.’

Maura is recently single following a brief romance with former TOWIE star Pete Wicks.

‘There have been a few clashes, and it was eventually agreed they were better off as friends,’ a source told MailOnline.

‘Those closest to them know it’s been a very on-and-off relationship, which is why they were so resistant to go public in the first place. They remain close and share a deep connection.’
