The Hating Game, a popular 2021 movie based on author Sally Thorne’s best-selling novel of the same name, has been described as ‘like The Duff, The Proposal and 50 Shades had a baby’ according to one fan.
In a classic battle of the sexes set-up, the film follows ambitious good girl Lucy Hutton (Lucy Hale, Pretty Little Liars) and her cold, efficient work nemesis, Joshua Templeton (Austin Stowell, Whiplash), as they struggle to work together at a publishing company.
Resolving to achieve professional success without compromising her ethics, Lucy embarks on a ruthless game of one-upmanship against Joshua, a rivalry that is increasingly complicated by her growing attraction towards him.
However, The Hating Game only has a matter of days left on Prime Video, with the movie set to leave the streaming platform in the early hours of Tuesday morning, UK time.
Fans have shared their love for this rom-com, which was first released digitally in the UK in 2022 and classified as fresh both my critics and audience members on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.
