Harry Styles shocks fans with ‘seriously impressive’ Tokyo marathon time
'I don’t think I could keep that pace for 1 minute!'

Harry Styles was spotted running a marathon in Tokyo today and surprised many with his speedy time.
The pop superstar was pictured participating in the 26.2-mile race wearing neon shoes and a long sleeve top.
Eagle-eyed fans were able to spot him in videos of the race, which is famously difficult to enter as a non-Japanese person.
The Watermelon Sugar singer came in at 3:24:07, averaging a bit faster than an 8-minute mile or 4:51 per km.
Harry ran with the bib number 39162 and placed 6010 out of approximately 38,000.
An average male marathon time is approximately 4 hours, meaning Harry managed a pretty impressive time given his hectic schedule likely getting in the way of training.

‘Don’t go in thinking “He did it in five minutes, I’m going to do the same,” just keep on pushing,’ David said. ‘Don’t think about anything else, your time is yours. …Collaborating with Harry Styles was an absolute delight. His commitment is unparalleled.’
Fans online were quick to react to the former One Directioners accomplishment, with X user @AnithaRamakrish writing: ‘That’s an amazing pace! Good for him. Very impressive for a celebrity.’
@alissascinema agreed: ‘For those that can’t tell if that’s good or bad, he finished ahead of 30K+ people, he was literally in the top 15%, that man is an ATHLETE.’
@SsQscZRzCWPMbAl pointed out that the time is particularly impressive given how hot it was during the race today, posting: ‘Tokyo was unusually warm today for Feb. at the highest temperature of 22 celsius.????’

Given that a person has to sign up for a major marathon like Tokyo months in advance, many fans were quick to point out that Harry’s participation means that the rumours of One Direction reuniting at the Brit Awards was never actually a possibility.

Rumours swirled of a possible One Direction reunion ahead of the Brit Awards (Picture: David Fisher/REX/Shutterstock)While One Direction did not reunite at the awards show last night, there was a moving tribute to Harry’s former One Direction bandmate Liam Payne, who died in October of last year.
Host Jack Whitehall began by introducing a video segment that showed clips of Payne over the years and an older clip of him talking about how special the industry was to him.
During the segment, Whitehall described Payne as ‘a very special person who meant so much to so many people in this room.’ He then went on to highlight the singer’s life and legacy, as a video montage left viewers in floods of tears.
Following the tribute, Payne’s family said how they will ‘forever remember’ the joy he brought into the world with his music.
