Following Sara Davies announcing her exit from Dragons’ Den, rumours have been swirling over who could be her replacement.

Sara, 40, revealed last week that she was stepping back from the BBC One programme ‘for now’, to focus on her own businesses.

She’d made history joining the Den in 2019 as the youngest ever female Dragon, taking a seat besides Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman and Tej Lalvani, who was later replaced by Steven Bartlett.

After confirming her departure, she hinted guest presenter Gary Neville could be filling her shoes, which would leave Deborah as the only female investor on the show, once again.

But there may be another person who would be better suited, and has an impressive suite of titles behind her.

Emma Grede, who has featured on Dragons’ Den for the last two years and also on the US version, Shark Tank, is already tipped to replace Sara, standing at odds 2/1.

Inside Emma Grede’s $360,000,000 fortune

In 2022, Forbes estimated Emma’s net worth to be $360,000,000 (£280,000,000) thanks to her work with several Kardashians and various stakes in companies with her husband Jens.

The 42-year-old earned herself a spot on Forbes’ 2022 list of the richest self-made women in the US and was in the top ten list of the UK’s most influential black person by The Powerlist 2025.

She’s come a long way since growing up as the eldest of four daughters to a single mother in East London, where she would take on odd jobs like paper routes from the age of 12, splurging her spare change on buying fashion magazines.

After dropping out of the London School of Fashion due to financial struggles, Emma took on a role at a fashion production company, before founding her own Independent Talent Brand at the age of 24.

She grew the marketing and entertainment firm over a decade before selling it in 2018, moving onto bigger and better things following contacts she made while building her agency – including the Kardashians.

According to Bustle, ITB brokered partnerships between Natalie Portman and Dior, and worked with Kendall Jenner on her 2015 #MyCalvins campaign.

Having caught the eye of momager Kris Jenner, she then pitched Good American, with Khloe Kardashian in mind for the partnership.

Good American sold $1million on the day of its release, with Emma and Khloe seeing immense success for the brand, a frontrunner in plus-size fashion.

She’s since expanded in her businesses run with the Kardashians – Emma is a founding member of Kim Kardashian’s Skims, and the founder of plant-based cleaning products Safely, alongside Kris and formerly Chrissy Teigen.

And as if that wasn’t enough, earlier this year it was revealed Emma had launched sports apparel brand Off Season with NFL player Kyle Juszczyk fashion designer wife Kristin Juszczyk, which has been worn by the likes of Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne and Gwen Stefani.

Between Good American and Skims, Emma is also juggling being a mum-of-four, and alongside her financial endeavours, she serves as chairwoman of The Fifteen Percent Pledge and as a board member of charity Baby2Baby.

Emma married Swedish entrepreneur Jens in 2012, and the couple moved from London to Los Angeles to focus on their business careers in 2017.

They share Grey, 10, Lola, seven, and welcomed twins Lake and Raffi via surrogate in November 2021.

When asked about how she does it all, Emma admitted her social life was the one part that has had to give, and despite her roaring success, reckons she doesn’t ‘do everything brilliantly’.

She told The Evening Standard: ‘I don’t do everything brilliantly and I don’t profess to. I have an enormous amount of help, I have nannies for my kids, I don’t clean my house; something has to give.

‘I have a limited number of friends, I’m not out having cocktails. There have been stages of my life which were more about being social, now I’m focused on the businesses.’

I don’t try to find a great balance,’ she continued. ‘If I have a sick kid, I have a sick kid. If I have a deal to close, I have a deal to close; I don’t believe I’m here to just fulfil the needs of my children.

‘I’m trying to show them self-fulfilment. I want them to see me doing what makes me happy, so that they learn the importance of finding that thing that you love.’

Meanwhile, she’s been praised by two Dragons’ Den entrepreneurs who she invested in earlier this series as ‘genuine’ and ‘approachable’, as they said: ‘She’s genuinely the most sincere person I’ve ever met in my life.’

Dragons’ Den is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
