As one of the UK’s brightest presenting talents, it’s no surprise that Countryfile has nabbed Vick Hope as a permanent host.

The 35-year-old, who is married to DJ Calvin Harris, 41, is making her debut on the BBC show tonight, where she is joined by Matt Baker, 47.

Her first assignment is exploring the habitat of Kielder Forest in Northumberland and collecting freshwater pearl mussels at the Kielder Salmon Centre.

Vick said: ‘I grew up not too far from Kielder Forest which is where my first filming will take place, and have fond memories of orienteering there as a child; the opportunity to return and champion an area that has meant so much to me as my first assignment is an incredible full circle moment – I can’t wait.’

As the TV star begins her Countryfile journey, here is everything you need to know about her career and life off-screen.

Vick’s husband is the One Kiss hitmaker Calvin.

The couple started dating in 2022 and went public that May at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Months later, Calvin went down on one knee on his farm in Ibiza after splashing out a mega £1million on her engagement ring.

In 2023, the chart-topping musician and Vick married in an outdoor ceremony at Hulne Priory in Alnwick, Northumberland.

The inspiration for the big day was Glastonbury – with food stands and teepees reportedly dotted around the grounds.

Plenty of celebrity guests were also in attendance, including Big Brother host AJ Odudu and radio presenters Vernon Kay and Scott Mills.

In the Argentinian capital, she became the youngest ever journalist employed by independent English-language newspaper The Argentina Independent and also worked for MTV as a presenter.

Vick’s first major radio presenting job in the UK was as a presenter on Capital Xtra before hosting the Capital Breakfast show with Roman Kemp and Sonny Jay from 2017 until 2020.

In 2021, it was announced that Vick would co-host BBC Radio 1’s drivetime show Going Home with Vick and Jordan alongside Jordan North.

The I’m A Celebrity star left the show in 2024 and was replaced by Vick’s current co-hosts Katie Thistleton and Jaime Laing.
