Matty Healy ‘could detail Taylor Swift romance’ in juicy new memoir
The stars dated briefly in 2023.

The 1975 star Matty Healy is said to be writing a new memoir exploring his life and times as a member of a hit boyband.
This is also expected to include ‘juicy’ titbits pertaining to his storied love life, which includes a dalliance with the mighty Taylor Swift.
Matty, 35, was rumoured to have briefly dated the Cruel Summer hitmaker in 2023, with Tay-Tay, 35, seeming to reference their romance in her album The Tortured Poets Department.
Earlier this year, fans speculated that Matty might respond with a ‘diss track’ of his own on The 1975’s upcoming sixth studio album, with an insider reporting that one track includes the line, ‘Keep your head up, Princess, your tiara is falling.’
While fans were quick to point out that this is a caption from one of Taylor’s 2021 Instagram posts, Matty replied cryptically: ‘Huge if true.’
With Matty’s memoir reportedly inbound, the Happiness star could lay it all out on the page instead.

‘Matty is likely to pen lyrical poems and short stories rather than a bog-standard tell-all book—that is fitting with his creative style,’ a source told the publication.
‘But anything he does reveal will be juicy.’

He was spotted in the crowd at multiple dates of her Eras Tour, and even got up on stage at one point to accompany her support act, Phoebe Bridgers.
Swifties became convinced that the pair were secretly dating after she devoted a rendition of Cardigan to her mystery man, saying: ‘This is about you; you know who you are. I love you.’
Fans soon joined the dots to footage of Matty at a 1975 gig in the Philippines on May 3, where he recited the same phrase.
However, by June 2023 they had split, with a source telling TMZ that Taylor was ‘single’ again.

During an appearance on Joshua Citarella’s Doomscroll podcast, he revealed: ‘Last year I became a way more well-known public figure for loads of different reasons.’
He continued: ‘I think that a lot of artists, they become very interested in their lore, or they become interested in the things that have happened outside of their art that people know about, and they want to address that, and [that’s] fair enough.
‘Maybe on my first record, when it was very much a series of journal entries, like little bits of heartache, I used to write about relationships a lot more and stuff like that.
‘But honestly, I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about, I don’t know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever it may be, that I’ve kind of become known for just because I was famous.
‘I think that’s an obvious thing to draw from, and I’m just not interested in it. And I think the maintenance of the status quo is something that I always fight against.’

Elsewhere, another song mentions a man who loves typewriters—coming after he said in a 2018 interview with GQ that typewriters were one thing he couldn’t live without.
Meanwhile, the song The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived (ouch) is largely believed to be another one for Matty, with the line ‘Jehovah’s Witness suit’ a particularly cutting dig at the star’s love of all-black suits.
As for Matty, he was evasive when questioned by paparazzi last year, replying: ‘My diss track?’
When they clarified, ‘Taylor’s new song?’ he laughed and replied: ‘I haven’t really listened to that much of it but I’m sure it’s good.’
