Netflix fans need to binge this ‘masterpiece’ thriller for Bank Holiday Monday

Netflix viewers are being urged to watch a ‘breathtaking’ crime drama before returning to work after the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Fans have said it is the perfect day to binge-watch all three episodes of thriller Black Work, which stars British acting royalty Sheridan Smith, 43.
Since it was added to Netflix, the detective show has stormed the charts and is currently at number two in the UK, ahead of shows including Black Mirror and Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing.
Black Work has found a second life on the global streaming platform a decade after it originally aired on ITV.
It follows police constable Jo Gillespie (Smith), whose life is upended when she leans her husband Ryan (Kenny Doughty), an undercover cop, has been killed under mysterious circumstances.

On Google, viewers have praised the ‘masterpiece’ thriller, including Jed McKenzie, who wrote: ‘Very good and breathtaking storyline, every time I hear its soundtrack and scenes where they filmed at the Leeds shopping centre, I always get the chills, it’s an absolute masterpiece and it reminds me of that Ubisoft game Watch Dogs.’

Patricia Young also added: ‘As usual, anything with Sheridan Smith is brilliant, this is no exception.’
Sheridan previously spoke about taking on the role of Jo in Black Work – and performing all her own stunts.

‘The back end of the car would spin out as I drove away so the crew would all stand back. I was thrilled to play a police officer speeding off and chasing people.’
Black Work is not the only thriller to have gripped viewers over the Easter holidays.
They have also been devouring Scandi noir The Glass Dome – which became the fourth most-watched show on Netflix UK after its release last week.
