Netflix star splits from boyfriend after he ‘saved her life’ during health scare
The pair naviagated a near-fatal health scare together last year.

Ashley Park, star of Netflix hit Emily in Paris, has reportedly ended her two-year relationship over a year after she survived critical septic shock.
The 34-year-old actor met her now ex-boyfriend, Paul Forman, in 2023, and the pair shared their newfound love on Instagram in January 2024 after Park thanked Forman, 31, for his support during her serious health scare.
She rapidly deteriorated after ‘tonsillitis spiralled into critical septic shock, which infected and affected several of my organs.’
In a social media post, which included a photo of him kissing her on the forehead in the hospital, she wrote: ‘Grateful most of all to @peforman for being unconditionally by my side through all this,’ as she listed all the ways he had supported her.
Later, in a podcast chat with Jesse Tyler Ferguson on Dinner’s On Me, she revealed more, continuing: ‘became so possibly irreversibly sick that Paul (Forman) really saved my life,’ adding that she ‘almost wasn’t there’.

‘I was in such pain and at a point where I really didn’t think I could ever laugh or breathe again deeply without, like, excruciating pain,’ she said.

The Netflix series not only stars Park as the titular character’s best friend, Mindy Chen, but also Forman, who plays Nicolas.
After discussing her surprise decision to date a co-star, Park told Cosmopolitan: ‘One of the reasons I wanted to be friends with him, and eventually fell in love with him, is that he’s so generous and kind as a coworker and a friend.
‘I’ve never been with a straight white male who has been more generous or better to work with on a set. Ever, ever, ever.’
Meanwhile, Forman echoed: ‘The relationship part happened after filming, but I felt that [support] from the very beginning with her.

Neither has commented on the reported break-up.
Although it is understood they are no longer together in real life, both actors should appear in the new season of Emily in Paris, which comes out in December.
As to what to expect for the new episodes, creator Darren Star teased: ‘This season is a Tale of Two Cities. Rome and Paris. Straddling both, Emily takes love and life to the next level.
‘From Parisian rooftops to Roman ruins, we can’t wait to share where Emily’s next chapter takes us.’
A more detailed synopsis reveals we’ll be following Emily in her new role in Rome as she braces following a work disaster from which ‘the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks.
Filming for the upcoming season took place in August and paused for a short while after assistant director Diego Borella died aged 47 after collapsing at work.
