Nicolas Cage’s ex-girlfriend sues him for negligence after their son ‘assaulted her’

Nicolas Cage’s ex-girlfriend is suing him for negligence, after their son allegedly attacked her last year, causing ‘severe life-threatening injuries’.
The Longlegs actor, 61, shares Weston Coppola Cage with Christina Fulton, with the former couple introducing their only child together in 1990.
The 34-year-old was arrested for assault with a weapon in July, after he was accused of attacking his mom ‘during a mental health crisis’, and ‘giving her a black eye’.
Christina, 57, later pleaded for him to ‘receive the help he desperately needs’, and has now filed a lawsuit in California over the incident.
According to People Magazine, she is taking legal action against Nicolas, suing him for negligent supervision and negligent undertaking as well as negligence – a move that he has slammed.
She is also suing Weston for assault, battery, negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

‘Weston has a long history of mental and psychological disorder and a history of committing violent assault and battery and harming numerous individuals,’ the paperwork reportedly reads.
‘Nicolas has been aware of Weston’s history and nevertheless failed to take action to prevent Weston from committing acts of violence and harming others.’
Christina claimed that Nicolas has bailed Weston out of jail multiple times, pays for his LA home and drinks with him despite ‘knowing his substance abuse history’.

The lawsuit comes almost a year after Weston allegedly attacked his mom last April, reportedly leaving her with ‘severe and life-threatening injuries’.
In the documents, she claimed that she suffered a brain concussion, contusions, a disfiguring eye injury and dental trauma, while also going through PTSD and psychological damage following the alleged incident last April.

It is not clear how much she is seeking in the lawsuit, but People Magazine reports that she is asking for costs related to her filing.
Nicolas’ lawyers shared a statement with the publication, which read: ‘The allegations by Christina Fulton against Nicolas Cage are absurd and frivolous.

Weston is the eldest of Nicolas’ three children and Christina’s only child – the pair dated for around three years before going their separate ways in 1991.
He has since welcomed a son, Kal-El Cage, with ex-wife Alice Kim, and introduced daughter August Francesca Coppola Cage in 2022 with his fifth wife, Riko Shibata.
