Oscar-winning actor has cameo in The White Lotus but you may have missed it

The White Lotus is always full of surprises and the latest episode included an unexpected cameo from a megastar.
The third season of the wildly popular social satire is well underway with the second instalment providing further information about our intriguing holidaymakers.
Patriarch financier Timothy (Jason Isaacs), who heads up the wealthy Ratliff family, is having a particularly tricky time.
His latest troubles lead to a phone call with his former business partner Kenny. The character was voiced by none other than Ke Huy Quan, who won a best supporting actor Oscar for Everything Everywhere All at Once in 2023.
So far, we’d only heard Kenny being referenced by journalists, who were questioning Timonthy on shady financial dealings he was involved in a few years ago. Desperate to find out how much trouble he could be in, Timothy leaves Kenny a voicemail.
After securing a burner phone, Kenny finally contacts Timothy and it’s at this point we get a voice cameo from Quan.

A very stressed-sounding Kenny replies: ‘I don’t care about the f*****g story because 20 agents just raided my f*****g office! F**k me. I’m done.’
An unhappy Timothy then scolds Kenny for previously swearing this situation wouldn’t happen. ‘I didn’t think some whistleblower b***h in my office was going to rat me out to the media and the fucking FBI,’ he offers as an explanation.
It’s unlikely Timothy is going to be able to enjoy relaxing in the Thailand luxury retreat that he is currently staying in with his wife Victoria (Parker Posey) and three children – finance bro Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), shy high schooler Lochlan (Sam Nivola) and earnest college student Piper (Sarah Catherine Cook) – as Kenny informs him that he is implicated in the wrongdoings. His family have got some weird things going on themselves so they’ve barely noticed their dad’s shifty behaviour.
‘I didn’t wanna do it! This was all you, and now I’m wrapped up in some money laundering bribery situation, and I only made $10 million off of your stupid f*****g scheme!’ Timothy fumed.
Timothy then threatens to kill Kenny, to which he says: ‘If it makes you feel any better, I’m gonna f*****g kill myself.’

This isn’t the first time that The White Lotus creator Mike White has called on award-winning actors for small parts. Such is the power of the murder mystery show that big stars are up for getting involved in fun ways. In the second series, Laura Dern plays the estranged wife of Michael Imperioli’s character, Dominic. Once again, it was a voice-only role.

‘He is probably just like Laura Dern in season 2 talking to Michael Imperioli on the phone without making an appearance (although I’d be so happy to see him show up for real ????????). But I’m sort of guessing that could’ve been a hint that Timothy might shoot himself and his family at the end…’ said Striking-Treacle3199.’ Meanwhile, Defying_gravityyyy is dreaming he gets a ‘full-time role in season 4’.
Despite his recognisable voice feature, Quan is not in the end credits and his contribution also isn’t featured on his IMDB page.
