Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh has opened up about dating a man 18 years her junior, admitting she still has ‘anxiety’ in their relationship.

The Lorraine co-host, 47, has been dating Louis Church, 29, since 2020.

She and Louis met while Ravir competed on Strictly Come Dancing – partnered with Giovanni Pernice – as he was a producer on the glitzy BBC show.

Daytime TV viewers were initially stunned to learn Ranvir had split from her husband, Ranjeet Singh Dehal, whom she married in 2012. During a candid conversation on GMB six years later, she casually confirmed that she was single.

Fast forward to now and Ranvir and Louis are all loved up; however, the broadcaster was initially hesitant to introduce Louis to her son, Tushaan, who is 12.

In a new interview with OK! Magazine, she opened up about being cautious in relationships: ‘I think anybody who’s been in the position I’ve been in plays it very cautiously. It really isn’t just about you and your feelings.

‘We can throw caution to the wind for ourselves, but when we have children, our foot is always hovering over the brake pad because you think, “Hang on a minute, this isn’t just about me”.’

She added: ‘It’s not just about the relationship itself, but even thinking, “Have I got the time to introduce somebody? I don’t want to dilute my time with my son”.’

Despite such reservations, Ranvir has remained optimistic with her outlook on love, also declaring: ‘Falling in love is a very brave decision, and to do it well is a lifelong journey.’

Throughout the ups and downs of her love life, her relationship with her soon-to-be teenage son has remained consistently strong, particularly after she became a single mum.

‘There’s a sort of raw, open honesty to our relationship, and because of that, there’s an incredible and unique closeness,’ she shared.

She added sweetly that ‘[her] whole world is wrapped up in him’, something she’s trying to slowly loosen her grip on.

‘I am trying to release him a little bit because he’s 12 and there’s an independent streak, and I know that he’s not mine to keep.’

Ranvir chooses to keep much of her romance with Louis away from the public eye but has previously defended their age gap from critics.

Ranvir, who joined the GMB team in 2014, went public with their relationship at the end of 2021, expressing at the time that she felt ‘really happy’.

While eyebrows have continued to rise in response to their difference in age, Ranvir has insisted that she ‘doesn’t see a gap’.

‘What really matters in any kind of relationship in life is a synchronicity of values and emotions. I don’t know why we’re so obsessed with the age gap,’ she told Woman & Home in 2023.

The beloved TV star added that she and Louis were ‘blissfully happy’, describing her boyfriend as someone who ‘lives very much in the present’.
