Robert Pattinson ‘fell asleep clutching knives’ after horror film left him terrified
The Twilight star said he is 'too sensitive' for horror films.

Robert Pattinson has shared why he can’t watch horror films anymore after one left him so scared he ‘fell asleep clutching knives.’
The Twilight star hits our screens today in Bong Joon-ho’s latest film Mickey 17.
And while the subject matter the sci-fi movie covers is dark, Pattinson admitted he struggles with horror films as he’s ‘too sensitive.’
‘I used to watch a lot of dark stuff when I was younger and think like, “Yeah, this is cool.” And now, I’m too sensitive,’ he began.
The Batman star told GQ: ‘It’s strange, you’d think it would go the other way round. As you get older, you become less frightened of these [films]. I can’t watch horror movies anymore.’
Pattinson mused over whether his fear of horror films grew worse after becoming a father, with him and girlfriend Suki Waterhouse welcoming their first child in 2024.

‘I had to do a meeting with the director, and he’d done this horror movie, and I watched it, and I kept thinking that someone was breaking into my house,’ The Lighthouse star recalled.
‘And so I was sitting on my sofa with two kitchen knives waiting for the person to come in. And then I fell asleep with them basically in my neck on the couch.’
Pattinson said Waterhouse found him with the knives, and asked what he was doing, joking that it was ‘probably a squirrel’ that scared him so badly.
While he did not reveal which horror film caused this reaction, it could be that Pattinson watched Smile by Parker Finn after he was reported to be attached to the director’s reboot of classic 1981 hit Possession.
