Strictly’s Wynne Evans facing ‘total BBC sacking’ after sex toy joke
Wynne Evans is allegedly worried he might not have a future at the BBC.

Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans reportedly fears he’ll be sacked by the BBC following complaints about his behaviour.
The opera singer, 53, has found himself embroiled in a string of controversies following his appearance on the BBC’s popular dancing show last year.
Most recently, footage showed EastEnders star and fellow Strictly contestant Jamie Borthwick, playing with a sex toy while backstage on the Strictly live tour, which was supposedly sent to him by Evans.
The video, which was then reportedly shared in the Strictly 2024 celebrities’ WhatsApp group, was reportedly filmed just two days after Evans was caught using the term ‘spit roast’ towards presenter Janette Manrara as she moved between him and Borthwick.
While Evans apologised for the remark, and Manrara made no official complaint, the opera singer later left the tour, with his lawyers previously saying that he was not axed but left due to health reasons.

Now, the Go Compare star has allegedly been telling friends he expects BBC bosses to make a final decision about the future of his BBC Radio Wales show by the end of the month, following the sex toy video which was obtained by The Sun on Sunday.
The opera singer is now reportedly facing the sack from his beloved BBC Radio Wales show (Picture: BBC/PA Wire)A source told the publication: ‘Wynne is not feeling confident and has confided in friends he thinks he will be dropped.
However, that same insider has claimed that Wynne has no intention of going quietly and will ‘tell all’ if he is fired.
‘It’s all a waiting game now and it has been awful,’ they explained. ‘Wynne says he plans to tell all immediately if he is let go’
‘He wants to talk about how he feels he was thrown under the bus by Strictly chiefs and co-stars.’
‘He feels hung out to dry and is planning to come out guns blazing.’
Evans, 53, believes he’s been unfairly treated by BBC bosses (Picture: @wynneevans)The Sun reported that Evans feels he has been treated unfairly by BBC bosses and that his former crude remarks made towards Manrara were a reference to a ‘widely remarked on and laughed at’ nickname used during the tour that was ‘regularly bandied about’.
Following the release of the sex toy video footage last weekend, Evans posted a selfie on Instagram captioned: ‘Hey it’s Sunday. Doing ice therapy tomorrow gonna be wicked #happy #mensmentalhealth’, while two days earlier he shared the same photo with the caption ‘#cantwaittotellthetruth’.
According to the publication, BBC bosses acted quickly to address the newly-revealed behaviour on set with a source saying they ‘formally addressed the issue and reminded both Evans and Borthwick to ‘act professionally’.
Evans’ lawyers have reportedly compiled a 30-page document in the hope of clearing his name (Picture: Dave Hogan/Hogan Media/Shutterstock)The source said that the two Strictly stars ‘were acting extremely immaturely and inappropriately’ given the series is regarded as a ‘family show’, and several cast members ‘didn’t share their crass sense of humour’.
They claimed that bosses were ‘horrified and shocked’ behind the scenes, and hoped to ‘nip the issue in the bud’ before finding out that the clip had circulated more widely.
It was reported in March that Evans’ lawyers have been hard at work compiling a 30-page dossier to help the Go Compare adverts star clear his name after he took time off from presenting his radio show.
Metro has contacted Evans’ reps for comments. The BBC declined to comment.
