American crime drama The Cleaning Lady, based on the Argentine TV series from 2017, premiered on Fox in 2022.
It has since aired two more seasons, with a fourth due to drop later this month, and is available to watch in the UK on Now TV.
The series follows Elodie Yung as Thony De La Rosa, a Cambodian-Filipino former surgeon working and living in Las Vegas.
Trapped in the country as an undocumented immigrant after her visa expired, Thony takes up work as a cleaner to save money for her five-year-old son Luca’s life-changing surgery, as he needs bone marrow treatment only available in Las Vegas.
However, when she witnesses a murder by gangster Arman Morales (played by Adan Canto), Thony begins living a double life as a cleaner and a doctor for the mob.

The synopsis reads: ‘The Cleaning Lady is an emotionally driven character drama about a smart immigrant doctor who comes to the US for a medical treatment to save her ailing son.
‘When the system fails and pushes her into hiding, she refuses to be beaten down & marginalized.
‘Instead, she becomes a cleaning lady for organized crime, using her cunning & intelligence to forge her own path in the criminal underworld.’

‘That was a very intense 15 min at the end of the show,’ viewer Loreo agreed.
Dennis added: ‘Damn. WOW. What a finale. Can’t wait to see where the show goes from here.’
Viewers have also branded it ‘binge-worthy’ and ‘addicting to watch’ on Rotten Tomatoes, with one person saying: ‘Awesome show, definitely worth the watch, I spent every week waiting for the new episode to drop.’
Another wrote: ‘Addicting to watch. Wondering what’s coming up next. Friends and family are also fallowing every episode. Hoping for more exposition in the next season. I love Martha’s humorous moments.’

French actress Elodi, 44, has previously starred in Daredevil, The Defenders and movies The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Hitman’s Bodyguard.
Speaking about her role in The Cleaning Lady, the actress told Collider: ‘What I think this show is doing is that there’s no glorification of crime and the mob. There’s no glamour in all of that.
‘Really, what we’re trying to do is put the audience in the shoes of a simple human being who’s been forced and pushed into situations, and she has to struggle with whatever she can to get out of those situations alive and to survive.
‘That’s what the goal of the show is. We’re telling an underdog story.’
