Fans of the hit Apple TV+ show Severance have been left reeling after the season finale, with many claiming it has made them ‘a different person’.

Viewers have hailed the second season of the show as ‘peak television’ after the drama finally returned following a three-year wait.

Mark S (Adam Scott), Helly R (Britt Lower), Irving B (John Turturro) and Dylan G (Zach Cherry) all returned back to work at the macrodata refinement team to continue their mysterious jobs at Lumon.

The drama follows office worker Mark and his team of employees who have opted to have their memories surgically divided between professional and personal life.

As Mark onboards his newly-severed colleague Helly, his outside life begins to overlap with work when disturbing truths about his job at Lumon are uncovered.

Now, following the release of the show’s mega-anticipated Season 2 finale, Cold Harbor, the show’s fandom have been left collectively wrecked.

Writing on X, @captaincupkicks said: ‘THAT #SEVERANCE FINALE OH MY GOD??? An insane fever dream that answers so many questions while asking even more, yet still delivers such an emotional ending. Beautiful chaos that I’ll need a week to process.’

Another user, @JuniperPhoton, echoed this saying: ‘I’m not the same person I was 75 minutes ago.’

A third person on X, @taystarswiftco, wrote: ‘That severance finale…no one speak to me for 8-10 business days.’

Greg Wamsgams on the site also added: ‘I love this show man, i cant believe we are going to have to wait so long for season 3.’

A fifth user, @goslingsfilms, also gave his thoughts on the finale by writing: ‘Going to haunt me in my sleep #severance.’

Fans of the show will be hoping they don’t have to wait too long for Season 3 after Stiller promised it would arrive soon.

But it appears not all are hopeful, with one Reddit user writing: ‘See you all in 2031, I guess.’

Following the release of the second series, Ben Stiller’s show has been met with huge critical acclaim, and fans have praised the dystopian workplace drama, which cost $200,000,000 (£159.9million) to make or $20m (£15m) per episode, according to Bloomberg.

But it was money well spent as the streamer reported Severance has become its most-watched show in history overtaking the life-affirming sitcom Ted Lasso.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that the Apple TV+ show has reached over three billion streaming minutes since season two launched this year.

New figures from Nielsen confirmed that from February 10 to 16 when episode five dropped, 681million minutes were streamed, following 662million in the week of January 20.

Amazingly, Stiller revealed that he reached out to none other than Barack Obama to appear in the series as the voice of the Lumon Industries building – a character who appeared in an animated sequence on the show.

The role was thankfully filled by another great actor as none other than action star Keanu Reeves voiced the role.

On Jimmy Kimmel Live, he said: ‘There was one person that I asked before [Keanu Reeves], and he said no: President Barack Obama.’

He recalled that the email read: ‘Hey Ben, big fan of the show, love Season 1, can’t wait for Season 2. Don’t think I have time in my schedule to make this happen.’

Severance is available to stream on Apple TV Plus.
