Wrestling fans scarred for life over ‘goriest moment in AEW history’
'This is terrifying!'

AEW star Jon Moxley left fans sickened and speechless after one of the goriest moments in wrestling history.
The former world champion, who was known as Dean Ambrose during his time with WWE, is known for putting everything on the line to entertain the fans, and he took that to a whole new level on Dynamite last night.
During a brutal Street Fight against Cope, best known to WWE fans as Edge, the latter brought out his signature weapon, which is full of steel spikes.
At one point, Moxley took a painful landing back-first onto ‘Spike’, and reeled in pain.
What followed was even worse, as the nails were stuck into his skin, drawing blood as his Deathrider ally Wheeler Yuta and an official struggled to pull them out.
The weapon was hanging from his back, and fans recoiled as they saw his skin tug during attempts to detach it.

‘Those spikes going into Jon Moxley’s back looked disgusting & extremely painful, you could tell from his face,’ wrote @AestheticStarx on X,’ while GCW’s Emil Jay added: ‘The suplex on the spike bat gimmick was one of the grossest bumps I’ve seen on television wrestling.’
‘There’s not a lot of gore that makes me uncomfortable in wrestling but this is kinda up there this is terrifying that thing is STUCK #AEWDynamite,’ tweeted @zerocontextaew.
‘I like a good gore fest in wrestling, but that Moxley spot was just too much,’ said @IANdrewDiceClay, as @DrainBamager wrote: ‘Bro, this is legitimately the most graphic thing I’ve seen in a while. THAT SPIKE CUTTING MOX’S SKIN.’
Others were conflicted, enjoying the intensity of the match while still being shell shocked by what they were witnessing.

I almost vomited looking at that Oh my god Jon Moxley you sick b*****d #AEWDynamite,’ added @TomBlowers1, while @ShawnTalksGraps admitted: ‘Genuinely one of the most epic but sickening spots I’ve ever seen. Mox is a f**king mad man for agreeing to that.’
And @JustAlyxCentral said: ‘Jon Moxley is a sick, twisted individual in all the best ways. That shot of him getting impaled by a spike 2×4 is one of the sickest things I’ve seen on wrestling TV.’
Meanwhile, some fans admitted they are concerned over Moxley’s willingness to put it all on the line.
‘Mox ain’t gone stop until he has a near death experience in that ring,’ said @Thereal2tz, and @sagoloy added: ‘Fr, i’m just worried mox will end his career soon enough because of these extreme spots.. just stop.’
Moxley previously discussed his outlook on taking risks in life (Picture: AEW/Ricky Havlik)Moxley, who has three-year-old daughter Nora with former WWE and current AEW broadcaster Renee Paquette, previously stressed the importance of living in the moment, without being ‘stupid’ with it.
‘I would advise my children to probably take advantage and live life while it’s here. At any moment,’ he paused during an exclusive interview with Metro. ‘I could wake up tomorrow and never be able to wrestle again, you have no idea.
‘At the same time, there’s that and then there’s just being stupid and reckless! I’m not advising anybody to go drunk driving or f***ing do parkour on top of the Empire State Building or anything like that.
‘There’s some s**t where I’m like, that’s stupid, you’re gonna die! But definitely take the opportunity to live life to its fullest.’
