Zara McDermott has reportedly reached millionaire status from her hard-hitting BBC documentaries following her split from Sam Thompson.

I’m A Celebrity winner Sam, 32, and Love Island star Zara, 28, were together for five years before announcing their split in December.

In the past week pictures were published of former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, 33, and Zara holding hands and laughing as they ate and drank, seemingly smitten with each other on a day out in Suffolk.

According to The Sun, the TV personality has brought in big money post-Love Island which is reportedly around £1,000,000.

Zara has appeared in various reality TV programmes after finding fame on the ITV dating show in 2018 – where she was romantically linked to Adam Collard.

The pair split soon after, but Zara started dating Made In Chelsea’s Sam.

In 2021, Zara presented her first documentary for the BBC, Revenge Porn, and later followed up with documentaries Disordered Eating, and Ibiza: Secrets of the Party Island:

In 2023, she competed on the 21st series of Strictly Come Dancing and was partnered with professional Graziano Di Prima – however it was later claimed she was ‘kicked and hit’ by him.

Recently, Zara was pictured with Drag Me Down hitmaker Louis, with a source later telling Metro Sam is ‘hurting’ after seeing the photos.

‘Sam is hurting after seeing the photos of Zara and Louis on a date,’ they said.

‘He’s been dealing with the heartbreak of his split from Zara – it’s only been a few months and they were together for five years as well as living together.

‘Seeing her move on so quickly isn’t easy, but he’s focusing on himself and has a lot going on in his career going forward.’

While Zara was busy working on documentaries, Sam had spent a significant amount of time in Australia for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’s spin-off show, Unpacked.

In January, he was chatting to best friend Pete Wicks on their joint Staying Relevant podcast when his pal asked: ‘What’s been going on?’

Referencing the split, Sam admitted: ‘It was tough. It’s been a tough month. A real tough month.’

Metro has reached out to Zara McDermott’s reps for comment.
