Alex Jones slates Hollywood star for being ‘full of themselves’ after The One Show interview
Alex Jones said the guest was neither 'nice' or polite' on the BBC chat show.

Alex Jones has revealed that Hollywood star who was ‘full of himself’ during an appearance on The One Show.
The presenter, 48, has been hosting the BBC chat show since 2010 alongside various presenters, including Roman Kemp, Jermaine Jenas, and Ronan Keating.
However, speaking on the Netmums Podcast, Jones slated Jared Leto, 53, for not being ‘nice’ or ‘polite’ as she named her least favourite guests to appear on the show.
Discussing her chat with the House of Gucci star in April 2022, Jones said: ‘Jared Leto, I hope he’s not listening to the Netmums Podcast, but he was there dressed as one of the Three Musketeers and he had all this, I don’t know, Gucci, big shirt, sleeves billowing. I mean, he was so full of himself.
‘And I thought, “no, no, no, no.” Our audience are nice people and they deserve better than this. And, okay, you might be like a huge celebrity star and you’ve done all these films, but it doesn’t cost to be polite and nice.
‘Anybody who can’t bring those simple skills to the table, I’m out. I’m like, no, sorry, you’ve not been brought up well, then.’

‘They know the show, they know the atmosphere and they give really good interviews as a result. We’ve had people on that are big Hollywood stars.
‘I mean, last week we had Robert De Niro and he was lovely, but afterwards he was a little bit like, “oh, my God, this is live.” And that’s the thing about actors, they don’t like being themselves. They often get quite nervous.
‘There are some who are brilliant, obviously, and they very relaxed, but a lot of them, that’s why they’re actors and when they have to promote the film, they get into a panic and the interview can be a little bit staccato and it doesn’t really flow.’
Jones went on to explain how she enjoys when things go wrong on the show as ‘there’s a bit of jeopardy’.
Jones claimed that the show’s audience ‘deserved better’ (Picture: The One Show/BBC)She said: ‘Live television is brilliant and keeps you vital and I’m still so grateful and sort of just amazed that I’m still there, you know, Not a day is the same.’
An example of this came when Dame Prue Leith left Jones giggling in shock when she came out with some fruity language as she described her husband, retired fashion designer John Playfair.
The Great British Bake Off legend was discussing her ITV cooking series, Prue Leith’s Cotswold Kitchen, and how her husband was a surprising natural in front of the camera.
But, expressing her annoyance, Prue declared, ‘I’m frankly p***ed off about it,’ while Jones and co-host Roman Kempt tried to stifle their laughter.
As the show cut to footage from Dame Prue’s new kitchen-based show, Jones exclaimed: ‘Well, Prue Leith, you can’t say that on The One Show! It’s a family show!’
Robert De Niro appeared on the show alongside Owen Cooper (Picture: BBC/The One Show)Last year, Jones also joked that if her rehearsals for The One Show were ever leaked, she would be ‘massively cancelled’.
The Welsh presenter said she has to filter herself each night before going on air for the family-friendly show.
She claimed that while she doesn’t feel pressure to be perfect, at about five to seven I insert the BBC filter’.
The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One. You can also listen to the Netmums Podcast here.
