Amazon Prime Video viewers are stumbling upon ‘best’ comedy series in years
Don't sleep on this series.

Amazon Prime Video viewers have fallen in ‘complete love’ after rediscovering an Australian comedy-drama.
TV fans have been binge-watching both seasons of ‘engaging’ show Wolf Like Me which was recently added to the streamer free for subscribers.
The series follows single father Gary (Josh Gad) who lives in Adelaide with his daughter Emma (Ariel Donoghue) as he strikes up a relationship with Mary (Isla Fisher).
Both Gary and Emma are still emotionally traumatised after the death of her mother Lisa seven years ago, so when Mary enters the pictures and is able to connect with Emma she is a welcome addition to the family.
However, Mary is hiding baggage of her own that she fears may hurt Gary and Emma: she is a werewolf.
On Google, Wolf Like Me fans have been urging everyone to watch the hidden gem series which has flown under the radar since it first aired on Stan and Peacock in 2022.
The show stars Isla as a woman juggling with also being a werewolf (Picture: Peacock)Ben Hutchison raved: ‘The cast are all great including the supporting roles. The script is awesome, it flows well the characters are believable and most importantly it’s engaging.’
Nivedita Kapur commented: ‘I’m in complete love with every aspect of this series. The pace with which story goes is remarkable and the series serves you with just the right amount of thrill for every scene.’
Echoing their sentiment, Dianne Warden enthused: ‘Loved this show!! The acting, the writing, the soundtrack, the characters….wow, wow, wow!! By the third episode I was all in.’
Nadya van der Westhuizen added: ‘I watched both seasons in 24 hours and am SO WANTING a season 3!!! ASAP!!! Came across this series by accident on Prime Video and decided I may as well turn it on for background noise while I work, ended up LOVING it and watched it while I wasn’t working so I could pay attention.
She strikes up a romance with Josh’s single dad Gary (Picture: Peacock)‘Really good series, funny, relatable in its own weird way, dramatic, appealing, just everything that I look for in a series. I cannot recommend this show enough to people who like these sorts of shows. 10/10 all round!’
Wolf Like Me is not the only Australian TV show captivating fans on Amazon Prime Video: they have also been devouring true crime drama series Underbelly.
At the time, it was hailed as ‘Australia’s answer to The Sopranos’ but has flown under the radar in recent years.
Each season of Underbelly is inspired by real-life events, with the first loosely based on the 1995 to 2004 gangland war in Melbourne.
Fans have also been watching Australia’s answer to The Sopranos (Picture: Nine Network)During this time, 36 underworld figures were killed, causing a power vacuum within the city’s criminal community.
Discussing the 00s drama on Reddit, FooteHarry said: ‘Australian show Underbelly about real gangland wars in Melbourne is (pardon the pun) criminally underrated and should be seen by an international audience.
‘Australia has always punched above its weight in terms of crime dramas both cinematically and televised, but after re-watching Underbelly (season 1, the others weren’t so good) there is a strong case to be made that we do it better than anyone else with a massively underfunded media industry.’
Over on Google, Principe Raphael described Underbelly as ‘must-watch’ TV.
They wrote: ‘Some of the storylines are inconsistent, but the acting, atmosphere and pace make this a must-watch. Unlike US cop shows, this is so direct and to the point without resorting to pontificating with too many messages or glamorizing the police.’
Wolf Like Me is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
