The UK’s Eurovision spokesperson for 2025 has been revealed – and they’re truly out of this world.

Doctor Who megastar Ncuti Gatwa has taking time out from the TARDIS this month, and he’ll be revealing the UK jury vote total during the Grand Final on May 17.

He’s following in the footsteps of the likes of Nigella Lawson, Joanna Lumley and Catherine Tate in delivering our points total to the rest of Europe.

That same night – which has been dubbed ‘Super Saturday’ – Ncuti’s Doctor will be back with a Eurovision themed extravaganza called The Interstellar Song Contet.

The sixth episode will see the Time Lord and Belinda Chandra’s Varada Sethu travelling to the 803rd contest, co-hosted by national treasure Rylan Clark.

With Graham Norton on board too, planets from across the universe will be competing for the top prize.

‘There’s no song contest without the great man himself, and it was an honour to welcome Graham Norton to our studios in Cardiff,’ showrunner Russell T Davies previously said in a statement.

‘This is the wildest episode of all, and we’re lucky to have Graham adding to the mayhem.’

Back on Earth, the actual Eurovision Song Contest will get underway later that same evening, with Ncuti pulling double duty.

Hopefully he can use the TARDIS to pop forward and see whether Remember Monday can propel the UK to the top spot.

The country-pop girl group are hoping to deliver for the Brits, but it could be a tall task after plenty of disappointment over the years.

Although Sam Ryder came runner- up in 2022, the UK has historically struggled to place well in Eurovision, and they’ve otherwise been stuck in the bottom half of the leader board for a decade.

Last year Olly Alexander placed 18th, with his performance also getting ‘nul points’ (zero) in the public vote, while 2023’s entry Mae Muller was bottom of the overall leaderboard.

Olly’s was the third time the UK had faced a total lack of support from voters, the same previously also happening in 2003 and 2021.

Meanwhile, the Doctor Who x Eurovision crossover could lead to a whole new career for Rylan, after Ncuti backed him to succeed as an actor.

‘I acted with Rylan Clark. I never thought I would ever do that! Rylan was really good as well,’ he told the Big Issue.

‘If he decides to do more acting, I can see it panning out well for him. I was so impressed and he brought an amazing energy to the set. We all felt a bit of a hole in our hearts after he left.’
