Gogglebox viewers were left mightily unimpressed after new star Jake flippantly swore at his mum, Sally.

Married couple Michael and Sally, along with their 17-year-old twin sons, Jake and Harry, are a new family on Gogglebox, bringing their unique takes on the buzziest and most random shows on TV.

On Friday night’s episode of the Channel 4 show, the cast was shown a new clip from the Tom Hanks-narrated nature documentary, The Americas.

Our couch-commentators were transported to Mexico where we met an exotic bird, the blue-footed booby and their endearing mating rituals.

As Michael tried to woo Sally by relating how he would be the ideal blue-footed booby for her, Jake quickly ended the conversation by quipping: ‘oh just shut the f**k up’.

The parents laughed the moment off, but viewers were left disoriented at the sudden use of callous language between the mother and son.

‘Telling his parents to shut the f**k up? And they just sat there and took like it was nothing it??? I’m sorry but Channel 4 do not show this family ever again. Utterly utterly disgraceful…’ Swilliams73 wrote.

‘Jeez, if I’d told my parents to shut the f**k up. I’d be disappeared, never to be seen again,’ Rob L echoed.

‘I can never imagine saying “oh shut the f**k up” to my parents, even in a jokey way,’ Swalk said.

‘What decent people tell their parents to “shut the f**k up”? And what decent parents tolerate it?’ Mario questioned.

‘I will never get used to kids who swear at their parents,’ Georgie_T_Truth2 echoed.

‘Wouldn’t tolerate that from my son and he wouldn’t even try it,’ Samantha Jay Jones declared.

Although some did come to the family’s defence.

‘Why is everyone surprised at the guy telling his mum to stfu, she laughed so must be normal and parents allow it,’ Frankly my dear posed.

Last week, Giles was in the hot seat for his take on Trump and Zelensky (Picture: Channel 4)

Tonight’s episode also featured reactions to Meghan Sussex’s new show, With Love, Meghan on Netflix, BBC series Chess Masters: The Endgame and Married at First Sight Australia, which left everyone in hysterics at the awkward moment when groom Ryan dropped bride Jacqui on the floor.

It’s not the first time this season that viewers have been left outraged after comments made by one of the cast members.

Last week, Giles left viewers incredulous with his stance on the row between US President Trump and Ukranian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.

During the world leaders’ heated exchange, Trump criticised Zelensky for not wearing a suit.

To which Giles replied: ‘In hindsight, Mary, it might have been better if he had worn a suit,’ although he was quickly told off by wife Mary, leading to somewhat of a marital spat.

Googlebox airs on Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
