Katie Price has revealed her son Harvey is starting a course of Ozempic-style jabs to help him have ‘a better, longer life’.

The glamour model, 46, shares Harvey, 22, with former footballer Dwight Yorke, who initially denied paternity of him.

Harvey was born with with Prader-Willi Syndrome, autism, and septo-optic dysplasia, a condition that affects brain function, and Katie has shared her story about being his mum in BBC documentaries Katie Price: Harvey and Me and What Harvey Did Next.

She has now revealed that he is taking weight-loss jabs to save his life, and weighs 28stone.

‘It’s really, really serious and life-changing for Harvey,’ the mum-of-five said.

‘He’s at risk of a heart attack, and because of his condition, he’s not getting any smaller.’

PWS is a genetic disorder that can cause physical symptoms and behavioural challenges, which also include an excessive appetite and overeating, that can lead to ‘dangerous weight gain’, according to the NHS.

Katie continued to The Sun: ‘He’s putting on weight. It doesn’t matter what we do.

‘He can’t put his shoes on without sweating. He can’t walk far because he gets out of breath.

‘It’s because of all the weight. So the doctors are doing it to give him a better, longer life, and for his health.’

Katie went on to say that after trying different food options and dietitians, they’ve resorted to weight loss drugs that can be stopped because he takes it weekly.

However, the I’m A Celebrity star revealed doctors have urged Harvey to try it for at least one or two years, but will assess what level of the drug he takes.

Katie has been the full-time caregiver for most of Harvey’s life, and in 2020 discussed the difficult to decision to enrol him in a boarding facility to receive special care when she was struggling to cope.

She said the then-16-year-old was a ‘danger to himself’, adding: ‘I don’t want him to go, but the doctors, mum, everyone is saying that it’s the best thing for him.’

During an episode of My Crazy Life, she explained: ‘What they can offer Harvey what I can’t, is daily exercise, keep him on a healthy food plan, he can’t go into the cupboards and eat. He gets to socialise with his friends – it’s more freedom for him.

‘He is 16, and I suppose I’m the selfish one because I just want him with me all the time.’

‘I have to think about it, I haven’t really got an option, he has to go,’ she added.

Katie also has four other children, Junior, 19 and Princess, 17, with Peter Andre, as well as Jett, 11 and Bunny, 10, with her now ex-husband Kieran Hayler.
