Previous Page Next PageRadio presenter Ali Clarke broke down after a terrifying encounter with a taxi driver last night.
The broadcaster, 48, was heading home from the 2025 Woman of the Year Awards when her cabbie shockingly said her ‘p***y smells’ during his string of abusive comments.
He worked for 13cabs, who has since confirmed he was fired after the incident.
Taking to Instagram this weekend, Ali, a former Mix 102.3 breakfast show host, began explaining that the taxi ride was only meant to be short, as her address was ‘not far’ from the venue.
Things got off to a bad start, however, when the driver claimed he had been waiting for 40 minutes and refused to take her.
She assumed he had been waiting for a more lucrative job, so she insisted she could pay him more.

He then told her: ‘No, no, no, you need to get out. Head over and find another cab.’
She responded by telling him there were no other waiting cars for her to get into.
Sniffling and visibly emotional, Ali repeated: ‘I told him, “Mate, you’ve gotta take me home, don’t you?” He said, “You need to get out” and I said, “Well, I’m not gonna do that”.’
As she climbed out of the vehicle, the taxi driver told her: ‘You need to get out. Your p***y smells.’
‘I got out and I was trying to be brave,’ Ali said, tears forming as she struggled to recite what happened.

Struggling to speak, she added that once out of the car, she tried to ‘get away’ from the unnamed employee.
At this point, he wound down the window and told her again: ‘You better get out of my car because your p***y smells.’
‘What are we supposed to do with that?’, Ali asked, clearly stunned.
‘I thought we were better than that.’
When sharing her story, Ali added in her Insta caption: ‘People who know me know I’m not one to cry wolf. I can honestly say I’ve never felt more alone and exposed as tonight.’
Ali thanked fans for their support after speaking out about what happened to her (Picture: Instagram)She claimed that 13cabs didn’t answer when she tried calling them to report the driver’s actions. It was only after she ‘took a photo of him and his number’ that he ‘started getting abusive’.
‘This is not ok and I know Melb and Syd have been dealing with non-metre gouging, but this was next level,’ she wrote.
‘Thanks to the security who helped me get home. On International Women’s Day I’ve never felt sadder.’
The host turned off the comments on her post, later sharing another after 13cabs issued a statement, to which she thanked them for ‘a reminder that not all cab drivers are like this.’
A spokesperson for the company said: ‘The driver involved in this incident has been removed from our network.
‘We have spoken with Ms Clarke directly and provided video footage of the incident to the South Australian regulator responsible for handling such matters.’
They added: ‘We do not tolerate any driver behaviour which does not meet our strict standard of conduct.
‘Passenger safety is our highest priority, and we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of service and professionalism for all our passengers.’
Ali stated that she ‘takes no joy from anyone losing their job – especially if others depend on that wage’ but she is ‘glad action has been taken’.
‘It shouldn’t take me being an ex-radio person for this to become a discussion,’ she declared.
Ali left Mix FM in November, having co-hosted Max & Ali in the Morning alongside Max Burford.
‘This will be my last week on air with Mix 102.3 doing brekkie,’ she began telling listeners, who were shocked by her departure.
‘It’s really hard to say now and probably even harder to accept it as well, but I was offered the opportunity to continue on, and it’s really hard to say no to something like that because I love this.
‘I love nothing more than connecting with people, and I love radio so much, and I understand the privilege it is to be invited into someone’s home, or their car or their lives.’
She added that she had been given ‘a new perspective’ on life after being diagnosed with breast cancer in July last year, thanking audiences for their support.
