And Louis is.’ The presenter was competing on the show and Louis was a producer (Picture: Ken McKay/ITV/Shutterstock) She added: ‘He does all the football games with Tushaan. He does the fishing, all the things I couldn’t do. ‘I think it’s a huge worry, the question of who your child’s male role models are.’ In 2024 the ITV star revealed she split from her husband, Ranjeet Singh Dehal, over a decade ago while she was pregnant with their son Tushaan. She initially announced their split in 2020 before appearing on Strictly, but little did viewers realise at the time that her news came eight years after the fact. I’ve kept that so quiet but I am okay to talk about it now,’ she told Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast. ‘Now I’m at a point in my life where I think that I’m learning to embrace my whole life and to not compartmentalise it as much, to keep everything separate. It shows you can keep private whatever you choose to!’ Ranvir called Louis a good role model for her 12-year-old (Picture: Instagram) In February Ranvir admitted she was cautious to introduce Louis to her son. ‘I think anybody who’s been in the position I’ve been in plays it very cautiously. It really isn’t just about you and your feelings,’ she told OK! Magazine. ‘We can throw caution to the wind for ourselves, but when we have children, our foot is always hovering over the brake pad because you think, “Hang on a minute, this isn’t just about me”.’ She added: ‘It’s not just about the relationship itself, but even thinking, “Have I got the time to introduce somebody? I don’t want to dilute my time with my son”.’ Optimistically, she concluded: ‘Falling in love is a very brave decision, and to do it well is a lifelong journey.’ While eyebrows raised when Ranvir announced her and Louis’ relationship in 2021, she has previously defended their age gap. ‘What really matters in any kind of relationship in life is a synchronicity of values and emotions. I don’t know why we’re so obsessed with the age gap,’ she told Woman & Home in 2023. Got a story?
