Romeo Beckham shares adorable message to dad David Backham after he’s finally knighted
Romeo has come out in support of his old man.
Romeo Beckham has shared an adorable message with his dad David Beckham to celebrate his long-overdue knighthood.
The former England football captain, 50, officially became a Knight of the Realm this week after years of being snubbed.
Sir David took pride of place on the King’s Birthday Honours list, alongside actor Gary Oldman and The Who frontman Roger Daltrey, plus Damehood recipients Elaine Paige, novelist Pat Barker and pottery designer Emma Bridgewater.
Sir David, who previously received an OBE in 2003, described the honour as ‘incredibly humbling’ and called it ‘an emotional moment for me to share with my family.’
This comes amid rumours of a ‘feud’ between David and Victoria, 51, and their other son, Brooklyn, 26.
Among those celebrating Sir David’s achievement was son Romeo, 22, who took to Instagram to share a sweet tribute to his famous father.

In the picture, the future knight looks awkwardly at the camera while holding a glass of wine, clad in a white tuxedo and black bow tie.
Romeo, meanwhile, can be seen grinning at his old man.
‘So so proud of you,’ he captioned the post, signing off with four heart emojis.

In a statement to the PA News Agency, he said: ‘Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour.
‘To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true. Off the pitch I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Britain around the world and work with incredible organisations that are supporting communities in need and inspiring the next generation.
‘I’m so lucky to be able to do the work that I do and I’m grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment. It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I’m immensely proud and it’s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.’
This means that Victoria, who received an OBE in 2017, will get a new title too – becoming known as Lady Victoria Beckham.

This led to backlash from some followers, who took it as a sign of ‘disrespect’ toward his parents.

He used to have ‘mama’s boy’ tattooed over his heart in a typewriter-style font, referencing his close relationship with his former Spice Girl mum.
However, that has now been hidden beneath a sketch of Nicola’s bouquet from their wedding day.

Posting on Instagram, David shared a series of pictures from a trip to Scotland he’d taken with Romeo and youngest son Cruz, 20, explaining: ‘Six months ago I planned a trip with my boys at the start of last week to camp and fish for my 50th was so much fun.’
A few hours later, he shared a selfie he’d taken with Romeo and Cruz, tagging in absentee son Brooklyn with the comment: ‘You were missed.’
