Sandra Bullock has said she fears for her family and fans after being targeted by online scammers.

The Miss Congeniality actor, 60, isn’t on social media in any form, but fake exploitative accounts keep on cropping up in her name.

Now, Sandra has spoken out about the scammers – who are swindling money from people by posing as her – and warned fans not to trust the online accounts.

In a statement to People, the Oscar winner also expressed her concern for her family’s safety.

‘My family’s safety, as well as the innocent people being taken advantage of, is my deep concern, and there will be a time when I will comment more, but for now our focus is helping law enforcement handle this matter,’ she told the US publication.

‘Please be aware that I do not participate in any form of social media. Any accounts pretending to be me or anyone associated with me are fake accounts and have been created for financial gain or to exploit people around me,’ Sandra added.

This comes shortly after Sandra’s sister Gesine Bullock warned fans away from accounts also posing as her.

She revealed she reports fake social media accounts pretending to be her ‘multiple times a day’.

These accounts, she says, are scamming men who believe that through corresponding with the fake Gesine that they have a ‘relationship’ with Sandra.

The result is that they are sometimes scammed out of ‘thousands’ of dollars.

Poor Gesine then receives ‘weird and scary emails’ to her home and business accounts.

‘These accounts are run by crime rings. They also run fake groups where a fake me posts “official statements.” Not me,’ she said.

‘This is my only account and y’all know it’s about baking, cooking, animals, and gardening. I’m a grown assed middle aged woman with a life and I don’t troll around at 54 DMing people.’

She also claimed that Meta – who own Facebook and Instagram – don’t seem to be acting on these criminal rings, despite being aware of them.

‘The only reason I stay on FB is to monitor this for my own knowledge so I am aware of the danger coming at me (and yes, because of these scams, I’ve had to involve local law enforcement and they’ve been outstanding),’ she said.

Gesine added: ‘Strangely, Insta handles these things and even informs me when someone creates an account that may be an imposter. But FB? Same company with same tech? Can’t be bothered.’

Metro has contacted Meta for comment.
