Spice Girls reunite for Victoria Beckham’s premiere after Mel B’s ‘upsetting’ comment
The performer-turned-fashion designer's Netflix documentary is now out!
The Spice Girls have turned out to show their support for former bandmate Victoria Beckham overnight – however there was one notable exception.
Two years after the massive success of the Netflix documentary that centred on David Beckham, his wife is now the subject of her own thee-part series.
Released today, Victoria Beckham offers an ‘intimate look at her multifaceted life and career’, following her formative years and rise to fame with the iconic girl band in the 1990s, to her high-profile relationship with her husband of 26 years and her turn as a respected fashion designer.
It’s already been praised for showing her ‘vulnerability’ and a ‘side we’ve never seen of her before’.
Overnight the premiere for the series saw Victoria and her family and friends attend as screening in London.
She was joined by her husband and their sons Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, and daughter Harper, 14, however their son Brooklyn, 26, did not attend as rumours of a family rift continue. Her parents Jackie and Tony Adams, as well as David’s mum Sandra, were also there.

But not in attendance was their bandmate Mel B, who Victoria detailed having a difficult moment with years ago in her documentary.
In one scene reflecting on her time with the biggest-selling girl group of all time, Victoria spoke about an interaction during their 2007 Return of the Spice Girls tour.
‘One of the girls actually said to me – and it did upset me – it was Melanie B who said to me, “Don’t forget where you come from”,’ she told the camera.
‘I have never forgotten where I’ve come from. I’ve never ever forgotten that Posh Spice is the reason why I’m sitting here. She might have been grumpy, but she was actually great,’ she added.
Speaking about returning to performing during that time, Victoria said that while it was ‘good to be back’, that tour made her realise she ‘didn’t belong on stage’.

And that’s fact, the business has struggled, so I’ve talked a lot about that, but I’ve fixed those problems now and it’s taken a long time,’ she said.
‘We’ve restructured the business, and for all of these reasons, now is the time to tell my story.’
She added: ‘Up until recently, I was aware I was still fighting the preconceptions because of my previous career and always being mindful of the noise and just focusing on building the brand.’
The designer recently told the Sunday Times Style magazine that she’d been ‘defined by a four-year period in my life’ when part of the Spice Girls.
‘It’s taken me almost two decades to fight that and I feel that only now can I look back and talk about it. I’m not going to lie, being asked questions about when I was in the Spice Girls was quite triggering. And I’d say those were the most difficult moments. It was almost like therapy for me,’ she said.
But she also insisted she was ‘so proud’ of the group’s achievements, adding they were all still close.

The other night I had dinner with Emma and Geri, and Mel B messaged me at the weekend. I still speak to all of the girls. I’m so proud of everything we did. I wouldn’t have been who I am now if it wasn’t for the Spice Girls, 100 per cent.’
The last time the Spice Girls performed together was during the 2012 London Olympics closing ceremony.
They also came back together last year to celebrate Victoria’s 50th birthday, singing their song Mama at her birthday party to the delight of many.
In her husband’s documentary, Victoria was famously called out by him after claiming she had a ‘working class upbringing, but was also driven to school in a Rolls Royce.
