The Lonely Island just dropped a huge bombshell about one of their biggest tracks, revealing that Justin Timberlake had nothing to do with the final cut of the song.

The comedy trio, made up of Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, dropped Jizz In My Pants in December 2008, premiering their music video in a segment on SNL.

In the video, the Cry Me A River musician made a cameo alongside Molly Simms and Jamie Lynn-Sigler and, for years, it was widely believed that his vocals were heard in the final cut of the hit.

However, in the most recent episode of the Lonely Island and Seth Meyers podcast, they reflected on the racy song and the confusion over his involvement.

‘Timberlake helped us so much. I remember people online being like, “Timberlake’s singing with them at the end,” because they probably also thought we couldn’t have possibly made it sound [good],’ Akiva said.

‘I think that’s just Andy. I’m not even sure I’m singing it,’ Jorma replied, to which Andy interjected: ‘You’re not.’

‘It’s just Andy,’ his bandmate continued. ‘But they just didn’t think we had the know-how to make it sound this good – which is right, in a way, because [Justin’s] the one that taught us.’

Justin had previously worked with the Lonely Island on D**k In A Box in 2006, which made the Jizz In My Pants cameo a no-brainer.

The three-piece shared that they couldn’t quite remember how his stint as a janitor of a grocery store even came about, but raved about how having his name attached to the song gave it a ‘huge bump’.

‘He did us a huge solid,’ Andy vowed. ‘I remember when this video aired, and we were still like, “I’m going to see every single thing that got written about us on the internet. I’m going to look at everything.” And all the headlines were Justin.

‘It got so much more attention … that’s how red hot he was.’

‘The fact that he did it just to put his stamp on it, it’s hard to measure how huge it is,’ Akiva agreed. ‘It gave it a huge bump.

‘It helped it tremendously.’

Justin went on to work with the group on Motherlover and 3-Way (The Golden Rule), and even popped up in their hilarious movie, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping.

They also got in the studio with Akon, Lady Gaga, Adam Levine, Robyn and Kendrick Lamar over the years.

Some of their hits were revisited in February for SNL50: The Homecoming Concert as part of SNL’s 50-year anniversary.

Andy took to the stage with Lady Gaga herself, quipping that Justin wasn’t there ‘to do his parts’.

‘Andy, Don’t be a b***h. I’ll do it with you,’ the Oscar-winner responded, before they belted out a duet of D**k In A Box for the star-studded crowd.
