Virgin Island latest episode branded as ‘most awkward thing’ viewers have ever seen on TV
The TV show is 'uncomfortable to watch'.

The latest episode of Virgin Island has made viewers more than a little bit uncomfortable as the contestants focus on ‘touch’.
Channel 4’s radical new series launched on Monday night and has already made waves as fans were left flabbergasted after the first episode, which was slammed as creepy.
The series focuses on a ‘radical retreat’ with a ‘very hands-on’ experience for the 12 ‘adult virgins’ aged between 22 and 30 who are looking to take the next step in intimacy.
After the second episode aired on Tuesday, fans labelled one touch therapy segment – which saw the contestants try to tap into their primal animalistic self – as one of the most awkward things they have seen on television.
In the session, the contestants volunteered to go up to a mat with a sex and relationship coach and crawl around on their hands and knees, nuzzling each other with their bodies.
‘I think this is the most awkward thing I’ve ever seen in my life #VirginIsland,’ said StuBallBaggins on X.
‘This is just becoming more and more awkward by the minute.. ???? ???? #VirginIsland,’ said cj_787.
‘I’m feeling as awkward as this poor lad is #VirginIsland,’ said Beckie_Miller_.
‘#virginisland really uncomfortable to watch,’ added FinneganSteph.

‘Tbf I think faced with watching 2 people be sexy animals I would look away too or into a pillow #VirginIsland,’ said Druhorton.
‘How on earth did this program get made! Watching through a pillow it’s so cringe – those poor people #virginisland,’ said w_gerry.

‘I think I’m going to have to stop watching this. It’s horrendous. I don’t like it and it’s making feel uncomfortable. #virginisland,’ said JewelBrigden
‘Lord, I’ve only just started watching this and I’m not sure I can continue #virginisland,’ said unused73737.
Others found that despite the episode being an uncomfortable watch, they were still hooked.
‘Is it awkward, uncomfortable and borderline voyeurism … YES. Am
I still watching … also YES #VirginIsland,’ said StuBallBaggins.
Critics of the series have suggested that the series could have been more sensitive towards the contestants, some of whom have already been mocked on social media for showing their vulnerabilities on this show.
Metro‘s Asyia Ifitikar commented: ‘I have no doubt this kind of touch therapy can be extremely helpful for people hoping to work through their worries around intimacy.
‘But does the entire nation really need to be watching on?’
