Becky Lynch made a sensational WWE return at WrestleMania 41.

The former world champion, who hasn’t wrestled since May 2024, appeared in Las Vegas as the surprise tag partner for fellow Irishwoman Lyra Valkyria.

Big Time Becks was the shock replacement for Bayley, who was written out of the show in a backstage attack on Saturday.

Instead of the Role Model, Lynch stepped up to team with Lyra to dethrone Women’s Tag Team Champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

Just days before WrestleMania, she had insisted she was done with wrestling for the time being — which was clearly meant to throw everyone off the scent.

‘It’s WrestleMania season, isn’t it now? Look, I’m not wrestling anymore,’ she said during the Ultimate Improv Show. ‘Maybe one day, but not right now. Thank you very much. But my husband is!’

Of course, Lynch’s husband Seth Rollins also shocked the world on Saturday night as he accepted the help of Paul Heyman, who turned on Roman Reigns and CM Punk in the main event.

The Visionary had insisted his wife wasn’t retired, and claimed she was ‘gearing up’ for a return.

‘Becky’s been back since the birth. I mean, she won the title, you know? She’s been doing great. She was awesome,’ he told WFAN.

Why did Becky Lynch leave WWE?

Becky Lynch left WWE after her contract expired last June. After months of speculation, it was revealed that she had not signed a new contract with WWE, leaving the company after a historic 11-year run.

Her final match before leaving was a loss to Liv Morgan in a Steel Cage Match on Monday Night Raw in May 2024.

After the match ended, Big Time Becks sat in the ring and struggled to hold back tears as fans chanted ‘Thank you Becky’.

‘She took a few months off, did some television and film projects, and now she’s gearing up to come back.

‘I don’t know when that’s going to happen just yet, but she is active—yes, that I will say. She has not retired; she’s not mentioned anything about retirement. There are future plans for her in professional wrestling.’

That’s clearly the case, with Lynch back in business and right back in the mix.
