Wynne Evans ‘axed as face of GoCompare adverts’ after shock Strictly scandal
The Welsh opera singer has been the face of the company since 2009.

Wynne Evans has been scrapped from the GoCompare ads following his inappropriate sexual remarks during Strictly Come Dancing, it has been reported.
The Welsh singer, 53, has been portraying the character of operatic tenor Gio Compario since 2009.
It’s a job that catapulted him to nationwide stardom and saw him front campaigns alongside Jimmy Carr, Stephen Hawking, and Ray Mears.
However, his reputation took a beating earlier this year when he was axed from the Strictly Live Tour due to comments made involving Janette Manrara.
Wynne, whose professional partner was Katya Jones, has now reportedly been sacked by GoCompare, who does not wish to work with him in the future.

A source told the Mail on Sunday: ‘The whole ordeal has been a real headache for GoCompare.

They added: ‘It’s also been tricky to even have him in the current ads, so it’s best not to have him filming for the next ones.’
It comes after Wynne was also suspended from his BBC Radio Wales amid allegations of using inappropriate language.
The performer has since retreated from the spotlight, previously apologising for his ‘unacceptable’ quip that insinuated a ‘spit roast’ with married tour host Janette.
When he was removed from the tour, having already done several performances, a spokesperson from the BBC said: ‘We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour.
‘We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints.’
