Britain’s Got Talent fans horrified watching unearthed clip of performer breaking his back
He spent weeks in hospital.

*Warning: Do not attempt to recreate the stunt*
Britain’s Got Talent fans have been left shocked after discovering a video of a performer snapping his back more than ten years later.
Sam Lloyd, a member of the ITV show’s daredevil troupe The Lazy Generation, sustained the horrific injury during a botched stunt.
Dressed as an astronaut in the resurfaced clip, he jumped from a roof and intended to land on a black ball but missed.
Paramedics then arrive on the scene, and Sam is filmed being carried off in a stretcher.

Urging his followers not to recreate the stunt, he later described the ‘horrific’ pain he suffered and detailed spending ‘weeks in hospital’ after back surgery.

Echoing their sentiment, @Scott_sully_photography wrote: ‘Mate, level of pain on 1- 100? It looked horrendous!’
@thecorbinalred warned: ‘This man will never be the same. Don’t do this.’
@feketetattoo added: ‘absolutely unnecessary.’
The Lazy Generation auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent last weekend in front of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, KSI and Alesha Dixon.
Controversial Britain's Got Talent momentsThis year, viewers were convinced they had witnessed the most disgusting act ever after Auzzy Blood, a professional sword swallower, proceeded to shove a twisted metal spike up his nose and a long plastic tube down his throat, among other antics.
In 2023, fans complained to Ofcom after comedian Viggo Venn won the show instead of runner-up dancer Lillianna Clifton and third place act magician Cillian O’Connor. There were even claims some members of the audience booed when he was crowned champion.
The same year, Ofcom said it received 69 complaints after some fans claimed they heard Bruno Tonioli make an ‘uncomfortable comment’ about semi-finalists Nathan and Joanne. They alleged they heard him comment that Nathan ‘peeked up Joanne’s skirt.’

Kicking off with a ‘human long jump,’ one member of the group took a running leap across the stage, landing on one of his co-performers.
The Jackass-inspired group then left viewers wincing as two of their number enlisted Simon to snap a huge elastic band across their bare chests.
Ant and Dec were also called upon to do the same for another performer’s buttocks.
Another stunt included running (blindfolded) on a treadmill over plugs, LEGO and small plastic toys.

Viewers were more divided, with Derek Harcourt writing on X: ‘If the lazy generation don’t win #BGT it’s a travesty, best act ever on it.’
‘The Lazy Generation was such a weird, strange act but so funny and entertaining ???? loved it,’ agreed David O’Connor.
The Lazy Generation previously reached the semi-finals of BGT spin-off series America’s Got Talent in 2022.
Britain’s Got Talent continues at 7pm on Saturday on ITV and ITVX.
