The second series of Celebrity Big Brother since its reboot is upon us in 2025, with rumours swirling around who will be entering the famous compound.

However, one household name star, Oscar-winning actor Goldie Hawn, reportedly came close but ultimately rejected an offer to appear on the reality TV show.

She would have starred in the second season of the Celebrity Big Brother reboot after it returned last year for the first time since 2018, hot on the heels of the successful ITV revival of Big Brother’s civilian edition.

Stars including X Factor pals Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, as well as Love Island’ star’s Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, descended on the house, with Ibiza Weekender’s David Potts ultimately winning the series.

Reality TV fanatics will be thrilled to hear we have mere days to wait until we can get our next Celeb Big Brother fix, as the show is due to be back on Monday, April 7.

One celebrity who has ruled himself out of appearing, however, is Gary Lineker, who purposefully demanded £50,000,000 to appear on the TV show, knowing it would result in a rejection from producers.

Names in the mix, though, currently include a Wag who has reportedly been offered a huge fee to sign on, a Channel 4 reality personality, and two major soap stars…

Unbelievably, veritable Hollywood icon Goldie Hawn, 79, was reportedly in ‘advanced talks’ to join Celebrity Big Brother.

However, the star, who won the best supporting actress Oscar for Cactus Flower, declined the £1,000,000 offer as the timing wasn’t right.

A source told The Sun: ‘Bosses were hoping to replicate the success of Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh who were a hit on last year’s series thanks to their lack of filter and celebrity gossip.

‘Goldie was flattered by the offer, which was massive, as much as £1 million, but she decided now wasn’t the right time for her.’

Goldie rose to fame on NBC sketch comedy program Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In before becoming a movie star in productions such as The First Wives Club, Private Benjamin, Death Becomes Her and Shampoo.

More recently, she has starred in the Christmas films The Christmas Chronicles with her longtime partner Kurt Russell.

Her daughter is fellow Hollywood actor, Kate Hudson.

Patsy Palmer Having wrapped filming on EastEnders, is CBB Patsy Palmer’s next TV opportunity? (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)

We best know her as Bianca Jackson in EastEnders, but it’s now believed we could get to see a whole new side to Patsy Palmer in the CBB house.

The 52-year-old DJ is no stranger to TV competition shows, having taken part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2005 and Dancing On Ice in 2023.

Patsy, who was first cast in EastEnders in 1993, is thought to be in ‘advanced talks’ to enter the house, with meetings reaching their final stages.

According to MailOnline, since it’s well known she is leaving EastEnders, Patsy had a wild leaving bash this month and is now looking at other projects.

Taking to her Instagram Story recently to seemingly bid goodbye to her character, she hinted that filming had wrapped on Albert Square, writing: ‘Bye bye B, always grateful to see her again.’

So, could she be swapping BBC’s Walford for the newly-refurbished ITV abode?

Chesney Hawkes Chesney Hawkes could be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house as he charts his return to the spotlight (Picture: Mike Marsland/WireImage)

Famously a 90s pop star, Chesney Hawkes, 53, has reportedly signed up for Celebrity Big Brother to coincide with his chart comeback.

A source told The Sun: ‘Chesney Hawkes is one of those rare British celebrities who crosses generational divides.

‘Everyone knows The One and Only, even if the youngsters might not recognise his name.

‘He’s also had decades in showbiz, so CBB bosses hope he’ll be loose-lipped about celebrity encounters over the years, just like Louis Walsh last year.’

Celebrity Big Brother (and the boost in profile) would be ‘perfect timing’ for Chesney, who is preparing to release new music in April.

The musician is best known for the earworm The One and Only in 1991, which became an international hit after appearing in the film Buddy’s Song.

In the film, Chesney played the titular character, while Roger Daltrey portrayed his father.

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has reportedly signed up, following in the footsteps of his former co-star Colson Smith, who reached last year’s final.

The actor, 37, has played David Platt on the ITV soap opera for 25 years but could be stepping into the world of reality TV.

A source told The Sun previously: ‘The two lads are great mates, and Colson no doubt told Jack he’d have the time of his life on the show.

‘Jack will be making the most of a gap in appearing on Corrie, which comes as he’s about to be at the centre of a huge storyline on the ITV soap.

‘His character David will be seen getting left for dead after being hit by a car on the cobbles —but it will transpire it’s actually a bizarre attempt to end his own life.’

Olympic gold winner Daley Thompson is also rumoured to be heading into the house.

Bosses are said to be hoping he’ll spark some controversy in the house and bring his ‘unwoke’ attitude.

A source told The Sun: ‘Daley is notoriously unwoke and likes to be provocative, so it will be interesting to see how he is received by some of the younger housemates.

‘As someone who was at the height of his fame in the 80s, many of them will barely know who he is, but for a generation of older viewers, he’ll be seen as a great signing.’

The former decathlete won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in 1980 and 1984 and broke the world record for the decathlon four times.

Annie Walker Annie Walker reportedly wants to share her side of the story on her relationship with Kyle(Picture: Clive Mason/Getty Images)

Annie Walker is reportedly considering a £750,000 offer to appear in Celebrity Big Brother after filing for divorce, but then making a U-turn on the decision from footballer Kyle Walker.

The 33-year-old started the process to end her marriage after the Manchester City captain’s much-publicised affair with Lauryn Goodman was revealed.

Kyle, 34, first fathered a child with Lauryn during a break in his relationship with Annie in 2020, but it came to light in January of last year that he also fathered a second child with Lauryn in 2022 while with Annie.

However, the divorce is said to now be on hold, with the family thought to be trying to start afresh in Italy.

Annie reportedly wants to share her side of the story in the Big Brother house, having been spurred on by the success of her friend Coleen Rooney in I’m A Celebrity.

A TV insider told The Sun: ‘Annie finally wants to be the one who talks about her marriage. She’s fed up with everyone else having a say. It’s the first time she would have spoken on TV.

‘It could be the start of a new career for Annie and an exciting move. Producers are prepared to set a new precedent with fees, too, and have deep pockets.

‘After seeing pal Coleen do so well in the jungle, it has given Annie the confidence to branch out herself.’

Ella Morgan Ella Morgan would ‘bring the drama’ to Celebrity Big Brother (Picture: Shane Anthony Sinclair/Getty Images)

Celebrity Big Brother bosses are reportedly desperate to snap Ella Morgan up after she made TV history in 2023 by becoming the first trans bride on Married At First Sight.

The 31-year-old married Nathanial Valentino on the E4 reality TV show before moving on to JJ Slater and then tried to find The One on Celebs Go Dating.

Now, Ella is said to be turning her back on dating shows, hoping to branch out on Celebrity Big Brother.

A source told The Sun: ‘It’s just early talks at this stage, but Ella is really up for it, and bosses were impressed by her.

‘She knows how to bring drama, as her stints on MAFS and Celebs Go Dating proved, and she is also a great representative of the LGBTQ+ community, so watch this space.’

Chris Hughes is best known for appearing on Love Island in 2017, during which he began dating Olivia Attwood.

While the influencer has since carved out a career for himself as a sports correspondent, word on the street is that he could be going back to reality telly one more time.

A source told The Sun: ‘Producers think Chris will be a great addition to the house.

‘He is really entertaining and was one of the most popular and iconic reality contestants with a massive social media following.

His latest romance was with professional golfer Annabel Dimmock, but they broke up in 2022.

A spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother said: ‘Any names suggested for Celebrity Big Brother are purely speculation.’
