Daisy May Cooper has spoken about her body transformation after losing 10 stone.

The This Country actress, 38, is reprising her role as Nic for a second season of Am I Being Unreasonable? alongside Lenny Rush and Selin Hizli.

The first season of the comedy-drama aired in 2022, so it’s been a long wait for loyal fans.

Ahead of the new series airing, Daisy reflected on how much her appearance has changed since then.

The actress, who welcomed her third child in June last year, told The Sun: ‘It was a bit mad as since we filmed the last series and this series.

‘I’ve had my lips done and lost about ten stone so in those flashbacks, we were just killing ourselves laughing as we don’t even look the same people. But it was fun.’

Daisy has previously spoken about her weight and body positivity in the past, and her attitude towards cosmetic procedures.

She revealed she began her transformation with a keto diet, which focuses on low carb, high fat meals.

The mum-of-three told Grazia (as per Mail Online): ‘I’m so for body positivity but when I was at my biggest I was at my most miserable and I had a massive food addiction.’

‘I wasn’t healthy. I couldn’t breathe when I was walking up the stairs. I was so unhappy,’ Daisy continued.

‘And I’ve had some messages like, “Well, now you’ve lost the weight you’re not funny any more.” What the f**k? Why do women have to be f**king fat to be funny?

‘That makes me so angry. I champion anybody. I think everybody should be happy with their body. But I wasn’t.’

She also spoke last year about undergoing cosmetic surgery, and concerns over getting more Botox.

Speaking on Rylan Clark’s How To Be in the Spotlight podcast last June, Daisy said: ‘I had Botox and then I had fillers, and it was just the worst, I looked awful.

‘There’s me on The One Show and I’ve got that horrible pillow face, I can’t move my face.

‘My agent said to me: “You’ve got to stop because you’re not going to be able to f*****g act”, because I literally couldn’t move my eyebrows.’

She went on: ‘It killed me because I loved not having any creases in my forehead. I stopped having that done.

‘But I haven’t had any surgery. I did go in to have a consultation for a tummy tuck and the surgeon just scared the s*** out of me, there were so many complications with it all going wrong.’

She added on the podcast: ‘It got to a stage where I thought, “this isn’t who I am, I don’t want to be this anymore.” I mean, I was so overweight at the time and I think I was really, really miserable which didn’t help but I wasn’t happy being that way.’

Daisy revealed she was prescribed medication for depression that slowed her metabolism ‘right down to crawl’ and made her ‘have the munchies 24/7’.

She said: ‘I was put on it just before I started This Country – what people weren’t aware of is I’d always been a size 8 to 10. And then I went on to that medication and that’s what made me balloon.

‘It wasn’t until I made the decision to come off that, people were like, “Oh my god she’s so different, she’s losing all this weight”. And it’s like no, this was always who I was, the overweight fashion wasn’t me, so shedding all of that s*** was great.

‘And then I had lots of people go, “Well, you’re not funny anymore, because you’re not fat,” which p****d me off. Like, this is my body, I want to be healthy and I wasn’t healthy when I was 20 stone or whatever.

‘It was really bad and I was miserable because I was just getting stuff to cover it like a f**king tent, just to cover all the lumps and bumps, and I didn’t take any pride in myself. Awful.’

Daisy is now returning to screens in the new series of Am I Being Unreasonable?, which also features her first onscreen reunion with her brother Charlie Cooper since This Country.

The BBC teased the upcoming episodes that will kick off where season one ended, saying: ‘Has Nic got away with murder? Quite possibly. Has she raised her son Ollie to follow in her murky footsteps?

‘Kicked out of the family home for brotherly love – loving the wrong brother – Nic is reduced to sharing a caravan with her not so trustworthy best friend Jen. Nic’s Husband Dan has taken up roller-blading to channel his mid-life crisis.

‘Shunned at the school gates and cast as the witch at the school re-enactment, Nic is experiencing hallucinations. Or is someone playing tricks on her?’

The new series will also guest star Chelsea Peretti, Tom Davis, Denise Black, Jamali Maddix and Kojey Radical.

Am I Being Unreasonable? returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesday, February 5, at 9.30pm.
