Danny Jones has made his first TV appearance since the world watched on open-mouthed as he appeared to share a kiss with Maura Higgins at a Brit Awards after party last weekend.

The former Love Island star, 34, and the McFly star, 38 – who has been married to his wife Georgia Horsley since 2014 – appeared to lock lips at around 3am, with onlookers catching the whole shebang on camera.

This evening Danny made his first TV appearance since at the final of BBC 500 Words – a writing competition for children – at Buckingham Palace, having been invited alongside a number of other stars to present awards and celebrate the children on February 26.

Tonight’s special World Book Day episode of The One Show saw Danny with his bandmate Tom Fletcher present the silver award in the 5 – 7 age category to Michael Morley for his story Thumbed Cat.

Tom and Danny also read out the story, and sent Michael a message while on stage at the ceremony, as the youngster couldn’t make it to the event.

‘Well done Michael this is a brilliant, brilliant story. It kept everyone laughing,’ said Tom, while Danny also said: ‘Congratulations.’

Speaking to the cameras at the event following the ceremony, Danny said: ‘The power of stories and the power of imagination is inspiring.’

Following the awards, Tom and Danny sang an acoustic version of the band’s hit song It’s All About You.

Elsewhere comedian Matt Lucas, JLS star JB Gill, Olivia Coleman and others were at the event as they met and spoke with Queen Camilla, who was presenting awards.
