Kanye West has once again sparked controversy on social media, this time posting an image of what appears to be a Ku Klux Klan hood.

The rapper, 47, has outraged many in recent weeks with horrific antisemitic tirades on social media – as well as attempting to sell T-shirts emblazoned with a swastika.

He took to X to declare himself ‘a Nazi’, say he ‘loves Hitler’ and insist that he has ‘dominion’ over his wife, whose stream of extremely revealing outfits worn in public have disturbed fans.

This includes the couple’s recent stunt on the Grammys red carpet on February 2 when Censori, 30, posed practically naked in a completely see-through dress next to her husband.

Now, the rapper has returned to Instagram to post what may be his most blatantly offensive content yet: an image of what appears to be Ku Klux Klan robes with the caption, ‘Oufit of the day.’

Founded in 1865 in Southern America, the Ku Klux Klan is a Christian extremist, white supremacist, far-right hate group widely considered to be America’s first terrorist group.

While their original ethos was focused on extreme racism against Black Americans, it has evolved over the years to include anti-LGTQIA+, anti-immigrant, and anti-semetic rhetoric.

The KKK became known for wearing pointed hoods and robes around 1915 and, as the Anti Defamation League notes: ‘The image of a hooded Klansman has become a popular hate symbol itself, displayed on t-shirts and tattoos by white supremacists around the world.’

Fans were quick to express their disapproval in the comments of Kanye’s post, with user @giaiar writing: ‘That’s enough Mr. West, please, no more today.’

@farisorisit agreed: ‘Here we go again. Please just take his phone away.’

@_iharis.x posted: ‘Bro has completely lost it.’

Some fans tried to defend the Yeezy creator, with @seerranoo_j referencing the spanish Capirote, a religious garment worn during Lent in Spain: ‘This is holy week costumes in Spain, search it up he’s good.’

But given Kanye’s history of provocation surrounding issues of antisemitism, others argued that even if the costume is a capirote, Kanye was well aware of the immediate associations people would make between the image and the KKK.

The post comes as Kanye continues to face dire consequences for his actions, as he’s already thought to have lost a $20million ($16m) deal to headline two shows at the Tokyo Dome in May after ‘horrifying’ the Japanese public with his and Censori’s Grammys stunt, which is being interpreted as an ‘utterly unacceptable’ act of coercive control.

It’s not the first time the rapper has been accused of antisemitism after he made a series of racist remarks in 2022, for which he later apologised.

But this time there was no remorse, with him tweeting: ‘IM NEVER APOLOGIZING FOR MY JEWISH COMMENTS I CAN SAY WHATEVER THE F**K I WANNA SAY FOREVER WHERES MY F***ING APOLOGY FOR FREEZING MY ACCOUNTS SUCK MY D**K HOWS THAT FOR AN APOLOGY.’
