Michael Bolton has shared a rare family photo, months after he underwent surgery for a brain tumour.
The Grammy award-winning singer took to social media with a special picture showing his 72nd birthday celebrations.
He was surrounded by family and birthday decorations, enjoying a slice of cake.
‘Spending my birthday filled with love and gratitude. Wishing you all the same, today & everyday!’ Michael wrote.
The snap showed him smiling at the camera, wearing a comfortable polo shirt with glasses tucked into the neckline.
Fans rushed to wish him happy birthday in the comments, with several saying they hope he recovers well.

Please take the time to recover from such a serious surgery and don’t worry about performing, or disappointing anyone. Your health, safety and well being are of the utmost importance. The rare appearance comes just days after Michael announced he had to cancel his London show as he continued to heal from surgery.

‘You all know how much I was looking forward to this show but I am continuing to heal from surgery,’ he wrote on social media.
‘Thank you for all your love and positive energy over this past year. I am so grateful to have the most supportive fans in the world.’

At the time, Michael explained he’d be taking time away from touring to recover at home.
He said: ‘It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon.’

Michael, who first found fame in the 1980s as the frontman of band Blackjack, has sold more than 75million records, released eight top 10 albums and two number one singles on the Billboard charts. He has also won six American Music Awards and two Grammy Awards.
