George Clooney baffles fans over shock confession about marriage to wife Amal
They've been going strong for more than a decade.
George Clooney has raised eyebrows after opening up about his marriage to wife Amal Clooney, insisting that they have never argued.
The Ocean’s Eleven actor, 63, married the international human rights lawyer, 47 in 2014, shortly after making their engagement public.
They went on to welcome twins Ella and Alexander in 2017, but have kept much of their relationship firmly behind closed doors.
During a sit-down with Gayle King on CBS Mornings this week, to promote his Broadway debut in Good Night, and Good Luck, the Hollywood favorite shed light on their romance, and how they never row.
‘Amal and I are having a really great time in life,’ he told the host. ‘Our kids are seven, about to be eight, which is a pretty great age. They’re really curious and funny. Every parent thinks their kids are great – our kids are funny, and make us laugh.
‘We were here with you once before and I remember we said we’d never had an argument. We still haven’t. We’re trying to find something to fight about!’
Unpacking the statement further, George – who walked down the aisle for the first time at the age of 52 – suggested: ‘I think because I started so late, with Amal…
‘I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman, I feel as if I hit the jackpot. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t think I’m the luckiest man in the world. So, it’s great.’
Fans were left divided over George’s statement on social media, with many suggesting that they may have nothing to fight about.
Reddit user SuspiciousLadyOfYore wrote: ‘Yeah but… what is there to argue about? Money? They got more than enough already. Childcare? They have nannies. House chores? They have maids and waitstaff.

Others also joked that, as Amal is well-versed in legal issues and courtrooms, they would also avoid fighting with her if they could.
‘She’s a highly successful lawyer in international law… starting an argument with her seems a pointless exercise. I would definitely avoid it,’ Infamous_Button_73 said.
Thick-Definition7416 quipped: ‘She’s a lawyer, they have he’s just not aware – she argues for a living.’
As Eliintherain added: ‘She’s a lawyer so I bet he’s lost a ton arguments that started out and she squashed it lmao.’
George has constantly shared that they never argue (Picture: Getty)This isn’t the first time George has spoken publicly about their argument-free romance, as he appeared on the same program in 2022 beside the lawyer to rave about their bond.
‘It does start with love, that’s the whole secret to it,’ the Wolfs star remarked at the time. ‘It’s just been easy. The easiest thing in our lives by far. We’ve never had an argument.’
‘It’s maddening to some of our friends,’ Amal interjected. ‘I have a cousin – every time we see him, his first question is, “So have you had an argument yet?” before he says hello.
‘It’s 99% luck just to meet the right person, the one thing I think we would take credit for is to not be cynical, and just be open.’
Directing her attention to her husband, she added: ‘I was surprised that you were not cynical or guarded at all. Things just moved really quickly.’
